So the only thing extra in the special edition of ADToE is the audition video?

The same one on YouTube right? If so I'll just get the standard one. I'm gonna head out to get my copy in a bit.

Instrumental mixes of the album as well, I think.

The instrumental mixes MP3's are only on the JAPANESE Special edition as far as I know.
Can someone post if the DVD documentary has anything extra or different than what the band posted in three parts...

I think the instrumentals are only in the deluxe edition (in the US anyways).

Special Edition (in Europe) includes:
-double flip cover with 12-sided booklet located in center part of cover (with complete lyrics etc.)
-audio CD in left disc holder (78 minutes)
-DVD (in right holder) containing documentary - audition "The Spirit Carries On", (63 minutes, 3,6GB size)

In my store, it had price tag €17,99 and standard version had €16,99, so my choice was obvious.

When I bougt it and came home, my wife said: I can`t understand why are you spending so much money on music CD when you have hundreds already.
Well, my wife has competely different thinking than me  :metal

But is there anything ELSE on that DVD other than the doc on Youtube? Many DT fans are like me in that they don't want to throw down the extra few bucks just for a documentary they've already seen and can watch anytime for free.

I think it's just the DOC

I ordered the SE just because it wasn't that much more expensive ($1 more I think) and it'd be cool to own the DVD if I wanna watch on TV someday etc.

tri.ad

When I pre-ordered my copy, I didn't specifically say which version I want (quite frankly, it wasn't that important to me). So I ended up with the CD+DVD version. Maybe I'll watch the documentary sometime. But I guess that I won't do it...

I thought the same thing.

ytserush

Apparently.

I picked up my copy (CD/DVD) last night for $18 and that's all there was.

The Silent Cody

I have CD/DVD version and it's nothing more than The Spirit Carries On documentary that we all knew well. The only thing more is, when you move to chapter select menu there is a A Nightmare To Remembre playing in the background, and it's version with Mangini from his audition. It's quite longer than we heard it on the documentary, but that's only maybe 30 seconds more.

Thanks. That's all I needed to know.

Should have included more than just the documentry.  I got the CD/DVD, but I really don't know why.  I'll probably watch the DVD once and that's it.
