I have no idea who the guy was/is, but it was quite good to watch and apparently a one-off thing, so I opted for sharing it.

In the second half of the duet, JP comes in and provides accompanyment for snippets of Hot for Teacher, YYZ and other songs DT covered more than once in the cover days.

Enjoy if you can, else ENJOY THE PISS [cit.]  :lol

Richard Christy is the drummer for Iced Earth (I believe) and Charred Walls of the Damned. He's also a personality on the Howard Stern Show (at least he was last time I listened to it).

I saw MP do a similar duet with Jason Bittner of Shadow's fall in Wallingford, CT at the end of this tour in 2006. It was a very cool moment, and the only time I saw MP do a drum solo in DT.

There's a mash up video on MP's In Constant Motion instructional DVD of the duets with Bittner, Christy, and Charlie Benante of Anthrax. Very cool video!

The one with Charlie was awesome, especially when he broke into 6:00.

He did a similar drum duet with Mike Mangini on the Boston stop of the 6 Degrees tour.

Interestingly, after all these years of not doing drum solos in DT, he's now doing them again in TWD.

It's not like TWD's catalog is overflowing with songs that fans want to hear in lieu of a drum solo, though.

Yeah, good point. This might be a time-stretching thing.
