No you misunderstand, I wasn't judging the quality of his voice so much as how off key he was and pitchy. I don't like indie music, but the vocals don't make me turn a song off. This guy did.

um, i love both neutral milk hotel and dream theater.  perhaps i'm an extraordinary hipster doofus

(and there are some very talented indie singers.  matt berninger from the national, for one, is awesome. in fact, i'm going to see the national tomorrow, at the same venue that i *gasp* saw dream theater last.)

as to the cover, A for effort.  vocals weren't fantastic, but i took a shine to it because it was a very creative approach.
