Hey all,
Just been listening to BCSL, and particularly the track Odyssey. Anyone know what the sound/ instrument is that enters at about 2:00? I'm guessing that it's JR but it sounds too human to be a simple keyboard effect.
Great song, by the way

I'm 99% certain that's a violin, played by the same guy who played on The Best of Times. I think it just sounds a bit synthy because it has an effect on it.

Violin. Everyone here really needs to listen to the Dixie Dregs album What If. It's absolutely amazing and one of my to 10 albums of all time. Seriously, is friggin awesome.

BlazedChaos

Thanks guys, just seen the original and it's definitely a violin in that. Just this one song makes me want to check the Dregs out.  :D

That guy is none other than Jerry Goodman, the original Mahavishnu Orchestra violin player (and a member of the more recent Dregs lineups since 1992).

Neuth

Yea, it's an electric violin, and I think that effect on it is... distortion?

Super Dude

What track is this? I don't remember that being on BCSL.

Joke?

If not, it's the special edition. The 2nd disc contains all covers. Check Wikipedia.  ;)

Super Dude

Ohhhhhh those.  I never bought any of them so I wouldn't know.
