Yeah, go ahead and joke.  We'll see who's laughing when you tally up the album sales from that side project you're working on with Russell Allen.

Zydar

I'm waiting anxiously on PC's new project, Epinephrine Posse.

I thought you'd be more interested in my upcoming side project, Estrogen Gang.

Do you have any snippets to share?

Bans have been lifted and PM's sent for those who posted the Amazon affiliate link (but not the other site).  But it is still against the rules, which I think now have been sufficiently clarified, so no more chances on this, okay?

Sweet beans. And hey, I was gonna argue but I resisted! Did I do well dad?
\o\ lol /o/

Tis BOOLsheet

so anyway back to the far from heaven snippet lol

Thanks for lifting the ban. Just my two cents:
Quote2b. With regard to "leaked" material ... [from] Dream Theater and side-projects by the members of Dream Theater, you may not discuss the leaked material whatsoever.
Any discussion of a leak, including discussion of the songs themselves, will be met with an immediate ban until at least release date, if not longer.
definition of "leaked" needs consideration. Also JR, DT etc. have made reference to amazon in several tweets, FB posts ("official"?) etc. Additionally, claiming to know what DT & management have given the green flag to is ridiculous. I cannot, however, argue with the rules of this forum; but anything below the clause (https://www.dreamtheaterforums.org/boards/index.php?topic=26981.0) is not a part of the clause (and is very open ended anyway).
I had no intention of posting what would ordinarily be determined as "leaked" (and post was labeled as spoiler alert + link description for good measure)
That is all :)

You know, I personally take pride in knowing the rules around here.... I have NEVER shared something that shouldn't be shared.  I am well aware of the basic rules to not get banned.  And, if I do get temp banned, it's not because I didn't know the rules, it's because I did something stupid and momentarily disregarded the rules (like insulting another poster, etc).

With that being said, I don't really look at sticky threads, either, because I KNOW the rules and don't really care to read through seven sticky threads.  I think the issue here is that people thought that, since Amazon is a MAJOR RETAILER, then DT/ Roadrunner must have AUTHORIZED them to distribute the music.  I've never thought of Amazon as being a corrupt company that illegally distributes music without the record company's permission.  So, basically, what I'm saying is..... that's most likely why people thought it was okay, because they thought it was under the umbrella of:  "officially released by DT/ Roadrunner"

Right?  Eh, maybe not.  Whatever.  I didn't do it.  LOL

Taken from the opposite angle, why would anyone ASSUME it's perfectly OK to post whatever crap they want? Especially anything that has to do with illegal file sharing?

Guys, this shit is over. Basically, some posters didn't see the red lights but by the grace of bosk above everyone survived

I will not continue this after this post because it wouldn't be fair to get this thread locked and I don't want to get in trouble, but.....

AMAZON.... CRAP?  What?  I'm perplexed by this argument.  It's not like it was, "VINNY'S PROGRESSIVE METAL BLOG" or some obscure website that no one has ever heard of.  It was AMAZON.  Seriously.  Crap?

Anyway, whatever.  Bosk unbanned them, that was nice.  Moving on.....

That's not the point.  They have the entire album, obviously.  And they are authorized to post snippets.  But the problem is, a low level person in charge of posting content on the Amazon page for the album who has a quota for doing a ton of those kinds of pages and just wants to stay on quota may not care when he posts something, and may figure there's no harm in it.  That kind of thing happens all the time with lots of otherwise reputable sources.  For example, someone PM'd me early this morning about linking to an article from a very reputable online magazine that had some clips posted that were premature.  Good source.  But they messed up.  And a couple of hours later, they apparently heard from DT management or the label and took those clips off the article page.  It happens.

No it isn't.  We know things.  Assuming that we don't is ridiculous.

I wasn't referring to the Amazon clips, I was referring to all the other illegal stuff people posted (including people who have been around here awhile and knew better).

Okay.  Well, you learn something every day..... everyone on here thought Amazon would have been just fine, so it's good to know for future reference.  That was nice of you to unban the people that were banned.  Not trying to involve myself in that, just giving credit....

It's all resolved now, no big deal. I'm sorry for things that were said elsewhere and hopefully we can move on
