Not awkward at all... I find these interactions between band members to be pretty cool (or occasionally funny).

Almost every band interacts with each other in this way.

Not awkward at all... They are just PERFECT!
Whatever they do on the stage is just adorable.... They are not human...

does anyone else find it awkward when ever they play live, and the members start to play to each other?

Quote from: BlobVanDam on December 11, 2014, 08:19:46 PMHef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Not at all, I even remember when I saw them back in Chicago in PN'09, MP sitting on JPs back while playing both their respective instrument during Solitary Shell. It was really cool!

Like when JR is going crazy on his Keytar facing JP?

Nope

When JL goes around putting his arms around JP or JM yes it's a little... awkward.

I realize I'm not adding to the signal/noise ratio of this thread, but I really like these interactions.

I was just watching In The Presence of Enemies on the Chaos in Motion DVD, and there's a spot where Petrucci is locking his gaze on Myung.

I admit that I thought it was slightly odd at first, but then I realized how cool it was that these two extremely good friends were sharing a personal moment on stage together.

I've played in bands -- never live on stage, tho, strictly garage/basement stuff -- and I know how great it feels when you and your colleagues are in a good groove together.

It's like being on a sports team. You love it in basketball when the point guard and the small forward are in tight sync with each other. So you love it when the guys on the prog-rock team are in sync too.

Nope, it's great to see them like that, they're friends and by interacting with each other on stage it proves that whilst they are performing for the fans, it feels great for them as well.

I really can't believe that this is even a thread, or question. It's not even awkward at all.
