Should I listen to any new snippets if they are released?

I've been completely torn as to whether or not I should listen to the snippets. I have tried to hold myself back from each of the previous ones but my I can't contain myself. Now I realize that a 1 minute snippet won't ruin any of the songs but when I buy the album I want there to be at least a couple songs that I've never heard before. Also, the snippets just get me super excited and make it difficult for me to not get my hopes up too high.

Anyone else feeling this way?

I listen to the snippets, because I don't think that I could take all those discussions about them without me being able to be a part of it. Also, hearing the new songs in full for the first time while knowing the snippets doesn't make that much of a difference. We'll have got to hear about 17 minutes of new material until the album is released, so there's still one full hour of music which most of us haven't heard yet. I don't think listening to the snippets won't take away any of the novelty of listening to the whole songs for the first time.

I'll listen to them , but only once, because I do not want to be fed up before the album comes out. You know, the'll give me something familiar when I listen to the tracks in full. In fact, they have me become more and more excited for the album.

Listened to the first one - already forgot everything about it.

Haven't done the other ones, and won't until the album comes out.

I absolutely will. Maybe it's because I'm a DT addict and will listen to any one minute twenty times at least and try to play them in my head afterwards, but I don't see the point in waiting other than the idea of making the first listen special. The thing is that listening to snippets is to me special, and I'm sure I'll often be surprised/elated when the minute I know comes along. (Not to mention finally discovering what LaBrie woudl do in Beaneath the Surface...)

I tried to limit myself to listening to them only when I forgot what the whole clip contained, then I would go back and re-listen. It's working so far, because I still really want to listen to them. And that includes OTBOA as well.

i have listened to them a couple of time when they where released but that's it. heck it's even a month ago since i have listened to OTBOA.
indeed i want to listen and discuss. but i couldn't win a million bucks if i should had to:
- give you one sentence of a lyric of the snippet
- a melody

That's pretty much what I've done. I listened to OtBoA a lot (because I wanted to know it for the gig I went to) but then only listened to the first snippet and none of the others.
I guess I want the music to be completely new to me, bar OtBoA. As for whether the OP or anyone else listens to the snippets, I think it's completely up to personal preference. Listening to the snippets is highly unlikely to spoil the album, but just give you a taste of things to come.

I listen to the snippets because I have zero patience to wait for the album (or zero patience in general).

I listened to em. Don't really feel like they are spoiling too much of the album.

Wonder if other artists will do something similar to this or if they'll continue to the two singles norm.
