I'm getting tired of that peavy commercial ......Hi there, my name is Pascal.....nooo this is Peggy!!!

Kotowboy

GasparXR

EDIT: Nvm, was confirmed in another thread.

After listening to this again, I can say that I enjoy it. Sounds like a happier version of Repentance and a more subdued version of The Spirit Carries On. But with some 5/4 (or 5/8) thrown in.

Groundhog

That was wonderful!! That sounded really fresh. Great feeling and athmosphere. Jordan's lead was truly sweet!

Stupid ad.

+1 The ad started and, for a second, I went, "what have DT done?" ;D

Exactly.

It's a pretty shitty thing to do, too.. Road Runner sends all this traffic to your site and instead of enjoying the exposure you try to make extra profit of it with an ad.

John94

I get a soft Opeth vibe from this. Lyrics make the song feel like I can relate to it/personal attachment to.

Glad most of you are liking these last 2 snippets. Wish I felt the same. I'll have to keep faith that the album has
enough balance that this isn't a new 'mellower' version of DT.

What about Bridges in the Sky? That was a heavier snippet.

Kotowboy

i dont give a shit if its ZOMG BR00talz 11 !!! or not. It could be 10 The Answer Lies Within if they were great songs.

When people i know who *only* listen to metal complain that x band's latest album isn't zomg heavy, I just tell them to listen to *any* of the other 100 metal albums they own if they want TEH METHULLZZZ

Not every album has to be heavier than the last....

The Silent Cody

The unicyclist is definitly going to die in this artwork... he have not many chances of not falling... :-[

Nothing else matters vibe to me ... love it :)

No he won't, he is crossing the tightrope into the sky on Beneath the Surface :P

Quite happy to see more mellow moments after the onslaught of metal on the past two albums, actually. Sounded great.

Wow... So much to love about this! JP's solo is breathtaking, Definitely has a Falling into Infinity Vibe (Like Hollow Years or The Lines in the Sand solo) which is a good thing because his favourite solo's by him are off that album, I love JR's leads on all of these snippets so far, and my favourite part is James along with Mike from 40s-1m mark, The vocals are awesome and the drumming has a cool feel to it :)

Wow, he must be a superunicyclist!! He's going to skip 4 songs!!  :o  :D

EpicCookie

Sounds nice! this is gonna be an amazing album :)

Emtee, have you not read JP's comments about using a 7-string and also D tuning on other songs?

Sounds great! I'm digging the other snippets a bit more at the moment, but I can imagine this will be a surprise to me when I hear the full song. ;)

this is pretty much how I felt... love the Knopfler influence though.... how many more days to go? Growing impatient here....

teoevans

Pretty cool.... JR first note sounds weird....bit out of tempo @ 0:25s.... Rest is amazing! :metal

FsF

The least revealing snippet so far (if that makes any sense, given they're all the same length), but it sounded nice. Jordan's sound fit in well I thought.

DarkLord_Lalinc

Probably the thing that stuck out the most from that clip to me was how laidback Mangini's drums were. It actually gives the song a lot of space to breathe.

Ben_Jamin

Love that JR solo. His patch makes that part of the song, is it MorphWiz. This reminded me of JLB's Slightly Out Of Reach. amazing snippet, Glad they're showing people they're not all wank.

TL

I'm really liking the dynamics on this snippet. Every instrument was so clear.

Also, Pascal really wants me to check out his MK3.5 demo.

Mladen

This almost brought me to tears...

Seriously. It's just too wonderful. I liked it better than Beneath the surface.

Vajra

I haven't listened to the snippet (trying to avoid material till the release) but I have a feeling this may be my least favorite track if it has a vibe of "Hollow Years" and "The Spirit Carries On". I never really liked those songs much. But hey, I could end up loving this song, I'll have to wait and see come September. Glad everyone seems to be enjoying it.  :tup

ddtonfire

Reminds me of The Answer Lies Within.

IJewBear

I'm getting a Repentance vibe all around. Well, a more uplifting vibe.

Coincidentally, I was just listening to the full song. :lol

*in b4 people bitch about JR's lead even though it's melodic, tasteful and original*

Not this time. That one fit perfectly. Beautiful.

GasparXR

I wonder why no-one has uploaded it in 720p like the rest of them? That's a little odd.

Fuzzboy

That was quite nice. Anyone else feel that Mangini sounds better on the softer bits than the heavier ones? Nope? Ok.

DoctorAction

Lovely. Soulful. Touching. (And who doesn't like touching?) Sounds like it was written by a bunchof middle aged guys for the sake of loving music, not trying to appeal to the teen metal market. Bravo.

Ben_Jamin

Let's just say, This might end up being my favorite DT album of all time.
