As the Title says My only local music store isn't offering ADTOE because of contractual issues with Warner Music  :tdwn so I'm thinking I will be forced to buy it on Amazon, anyone know how long after release it takes to get to my house? and what type of shipping gets you the CD on release date?

Answers would be greatly appreciated :)

Mosh

They have shipping options to get it to you the day after you order it. But it costs more. I'm sure there is a pre-order on Amazon.

I don't know if things have changed, but I remember Amazon being pretty good about shipping pre-orders well ahead of time so they get there on or slightly before the release date.

This. Plus I ordered a DVD last week from amazon and got it 3 days after I ordered it, with just the standard shipping.

(Plus I pre-ordered the CD/DVD Special Edition of ADTOE from Amazon today)

HMV (my regular music supplier) has it on their websites for 19.99, but it says "reserve unavailable" and I went into the store and the manager said Warner and HMV are having some contract issues, and amazon has it listed for 17.99, would it be worth it to do the 3.95$ express shipping? or just regular shipping?

And the Omega Order is sending out orders a week before release, except the boxset which is rumored that it will be shipped after release date

If you pre-order it and select 2-day shipping it will arrive the day of release.  This is how I am getting it.

Is this true? Usually I pick up CDs at Best Buy, but if this is the case I may do the pre order to get it early and save myself the trip before I go to work that Tuesday.

Yeah, I've been emailing a guy from TOO

Hi Ted,
we have not recieved the product so I cannot tell you too many details about the actual construction of the thing, Though, it is the same size as the Black Clouds.

12.25x12.25.1.75
3.5 Lbs

We will be shipping our 1 week BEFORE release date (unless roadrunner does not have them too our warehouse in time)
We ship them in the order of shipping method chosen, so, Expedited and tracked shipments first. Media and Free mail Last.

Does this help?

Yes, that helps.  Thanks.  I may be placing an order soon...

Sweet, I was kind of nervous about ordering through there -- I've never had an issue with them, just wasn't sure if it would get here on time. The free shipping (for over $40 orders) says 3 - 14 days or something like that, but they usually take about two days.

I've only had an issue with the USPS hub that they ship to in New Jersey. Last time for BC&SL, the hub had too many of the boxsets at once and refused to ship them out all at once, so I received mine a little late.

This time around, I upped my shipping to UPS 3 Day to avoid the postal service

What country are you in?

Might try Omega Order, which is RR's official supplier.

I live in Canada, would that make it a longer wait?

Do you think itd be the same for Canadian Addresses?

EuropaEndlos

I'm not as psyched for it as you are OP, but I order from amazon all the time.

I've ordered the new Dream Theater and Primus albums, both coming out the 13th of september.

Spend 25 bucks, get free shipping, and I'm sure you'll still have it within 3 days of the 13th.  Amazon free shipping usually takes only 2 days or so.

YtseCullen

I might or ill pay 4$ shipping and pay 21$ cuz its only 17.99 on Amazon.ca + shipping, I'm so incredibly excited for this I don't wanna wait any longer then I have too :P

Where can I find out more about this dispute between HMV and Warner Music?

I've been looking for this as well, but I only found out about this when I went in to HMV and asked about the new album, all they said was that Warner and HMV haven't figured out a new contract allowing HMV to sell the records that warner offers.
