I can't believe no one posted this yet. Matt Heafy of Trivium blogs about a nice dining experience with JP. Just goes to show how nice of a guy JP is, haha.

Wow!  Awesome story!

I have never been into Trivium that much and I gotta say, they were better than I expected when they opened for DT.

This dude seems like he is pretty humble and I really appreciate that in a "rock star".  He also obviously has great taste in music (DT as well as King Diamond).

i didn't care much for trivium when they opened for dt; to be honest im pretty sure it only happened because of roadrunner..
but despite that they seem like decent guys, neat story.

Nick

Cool story, bro.

Seriously, it's a really cool story.

Literally right after I read that this afternoon, I went and got a burger at the local joint.

Tis BOOLsheet

Those burgers are not beef. They're actually made of ground up small reptiles and rodents.

That's a really nice story.  It must be amazing to be TOURING with one of the guys you considered a hero years earlier.  Amazing and weird at the same time.  Thanks for posting.

Quote from: HeafyI was excited that at that point, JP mentioned he hadn't had a burger with a fried egg... and you know me and those fried eggs laid atop meat.

Petrucci is such a classy motherfucker.

OsMosis2259

Cool story for real. JP is classy and Heafy seems like a chill guy.

Agreed. This makes me throw more support Trivium's way. I have always "known of" them while in high school and, now, with them opening for DT. Perhaps we'll hear some cool prog metal elements in their newest album, courtesy of JP and The Byrd!  :metal

Kotowboy

In Waves is a fantastic album.

My favourite of theirs by a clear distance.

Yo, there's some prog metal elements in Shogun. Check that album out. It's kickass.

I agree. Especially the title track and Kirisute Gomen are awesome. I also love how the main melody from Kirisute Gomen recurs in Shogun, that's really neat.

TAC

Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Quote from: Stadler on February 08, 2025, 12:49:43 PMI wouldn't argue this.

This

@article:  Good for Heafy.  Makes me wonder if there's other fans out there that have hung out with one of the guys and reported on it?
