Disclaimer: I'm ignoring WDADU, as usual.
Don't ignore it, it's a brilliant album. If you're turned off by the  Dominici vocals/production, just get the live album: "When Dream And Day Reunite"

If he paid attention to WDADRU, he'd still be ignoring WDADU.

Heretic

There's no song I really dislike, but I don't absolutely love every song they've put out. A good amount of their material? Yes. Everything? No.

ConstantMotion

I enjoy every album, but there are songs on certain albums that I don't like very much.

kiwiclapton

Look, I like the Early stuff much much more. I do look forward to the new record, I hope its a movement away from the last two. I just want another titty fuck.

BlobVanDam

I don't love everything that DT have done, but I love a very high percentage of it compared to other bands. DT have a very high hit percentage for me. Even if I were to rank what I consider their "worst" albums, I would still find several songs I love, and several more I like. Very few songs that I outright hate.

I don't count WDADU, but even that still has a couple of good songs.

blackngold29

I don't love everything, but there is nothing that I don't like... if you get what I'm saying.

ricky

nah, i dont really like everything they've put out.

everything after SFAM became respectively (Six degrees is awesome, though) weaker and weaker. it started turning back towards the good with BCSL.

The Presence of Frenemies

A couple of things, like You Not Me and The Silent Man, I find pretty awful when stacked up against of the rest of the catalog, but when you take away the context of them being made by such an incredible band, they're fine songs.

Typically, I really fall in love with 20-40 minutes on every album, may or may not find one song skippable, and find the rest all somewhere between very good and excellent.

i love everything they do, some songs i don't listen to much for a while but then suddenly i discover them again.
One song i didn't like too much was the great debate(to much non music), but then they played it live in rome(4th of july) and it blew me away. the only two songs i still do not dig is wither (too soft) and the best of times(too personal and too much neal morse).
I am sure i will love the new album :hefdaddy :hefdaddy
i want the ticket for live!!! :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal :metal

Sketchy

Yup, I consider myself to love all their stuff. ESPECIALLY ANNA LEE

No. Two words....Anna Lee

See, that's like one of my favorite DT songs actually, lol. There's something wrong with me.  :rollin

No, there's not.  Anna Lee is a great song.

I like everything DT has done (although I haven't heard Raw Dog, yet), and love most of it.  Even my least favorite DT songs would get a C+/B- grade from me.

Jise

I LOVE every second of what they have recorded... am I sick? I really don't care.

and would be in my case
on top of  99% of the stuff i otherwise listen to, master of puppets and ride the lightning would blend in in lower to mid range of the DT albums. :lol :heart

DT2003

I absolutely love everything they've wrote.  I never understood the dislike for their recent albums.  Not sure if that makes me a fanboy, but I love it all.  They've been my favorite band since 1993 when I first heard them, and I think they always will be.

ariich

I at least like every album they've done, and many of them I love. I don't love every song they've written, but the vast majority of them are good.

Well, that should answer the OP's question. The Eternal Optimist has spoken.

I enjoy every album that DT has released. Of course there are a few songs here or there that I'm not that into, but for every song on a DT album that I'm not crazy about there's another that I love. Call me a fanboy, but I like what I like...

Millais

going to get absolutely hated for this, but I've never been a huge fan of Awake....

FretMuppet

I love everything they wrote

                                  EVERYTHING

senecadawg2

I do like everything. Don't LOVE everything though (Systematic Chaos).

Not at all. Anna Lee is fantastic.

I wouldn't say I love everything they've done, but I can find something in every single song that I like.

KISS 76

I pretty much love everything they've released since James joined the band... I've tried to get into WDADU but apart from a couple of tracks I just can't for some reason? I've wondered at times why I like everything they put out as I don't feel that way with other bands I like including Zeppelin, Floyd, KISS, Halen, etc... It clicked as soon as I finished hearing Pull Me Under for the first time after I took a punt & bought I&W in the new release rack at a cd store back then. There's something different going on here & I suspect Mike's interaction with us fans plus YtseJam Records was part of the attraction? I look forward to following & buying everything the band releases in the future.

commanderbob

dislike:

Far From Heaven
Beneath The Surface
You Mot Me (except the outro)
The drunken crying wailing singing on the second verse of Innocence Faded
Just Let Me Breathe
the trumpet patch solo in beyond this life
all the stupid goofy keyboard interludes
Charlie's singing
The Answer Lies Within
Cookie Monster vocals
and........
Dance of Eternity

LOVE basically everything else

Jaq

There is one DT song I hate: Honor Thy Father. Such a dreadful mess lyrically and musically.

There are songs that I like less than others, of course. But really, that's the only song of theirs I hate and skip whenever I play one of their albums. I'm not too fond of Just Let Me Breathe and Burning My Soul on FII, nor am I fond of TROAE and Repentance from the AA suite. I don't like any of their attempts to sound like Muse. I am an apparent anomaly in that I'm not very fond of New Millennium. But I still listen to them.

So, no, I don't love everything the band does. Even on songs I utterly love, I can find things I can dislike (I really don't like the sex scene sounds in Home. The lyrics tell me people are sleeping around, sometimes less is more.) But I only hate one song. That's a good average :D

TheSilentHam

I'm with ya OP - I love it all.  I don't really think much about album or song ranking, though I surely have preferences.  Even the songs that don't just blow my mind, I just consider an interesting change of pace.  I just listen to (and enjoy) it all.

legenden1

Love most songs (YNM included), very much like the rest with the exception of "Just let me breathe" which is basically crap.

lumpy33

i'm not getting the hate for just let me breathe.  the riffs are solid and the tune drives nicely.  are the lyrics bad or something?  i don't pay too much attention to words - they get in the way of my enjoyment of the music.

i love all albums and there's only two or three tracks out of everything that i won't listen to.  space dyed vest.  ug.

The more commercial songs are always less loved around here. I've always loved JLMB, in fact it's the first song I liked from the album, and the one that made me give FII a chance. :tup

Lowdz

Pretty much.
There are odd songs that don't do it for me (JLMB, BMS, TDEN, CM, HTF- I'm looking at you), oh and Raw Dog...ughh. But pretty much everything else is stellar.

I adore almost everything I've ever listened to, but with Dream Theater, I've loved absolutely it all. I've found that, unlike what most people seem to do, I rarely complain albums. I don't go "This is good, but this album had all this stuff in it and this one doesn't, so that one is better." I go "This is good, and this album has all that going for it. When you put 'em together, it's a stark contrast/clever parallel!"

For instance, there is not a single song post-Metropolis that I dislike at all. Not even "The Ministry of Lost Souls;" I finally fell in love with that one a few days ago. Not even "Repentance;" I find that to be a key part to the Twelve-Step Suite. No, not even "The Count of Tuscany's" lyrics; I find those to be a very fitting parallel to the quirky sound.

I mean, I'll give you this-- I find "Lifting Shadows off a Dream" and quite a few songs off of Falling into Infinity to be unmemorable, but that's only because I've yet to sit down and focus on them enough. And one more thing-- I have no favourite album. I have albums and songs I might be in the mood for at one point, but I don't pick objective favourites.

..okay, one more thing: Systematic Chaos is one of the albums I've been addicted to the most for two years straight.
