That bit from Breaking All Illusions wins me over so much. I like it more than the others, even all of OtBoA.

Breaking All Illusions.

not to say the others aren't awesome though! :metal

Jamesman42

Aniland thread for sure.

OTBOA, honestly. Snippets are good but they don't represent the whole, and I like the whole story to really get a sense of how good it is. I love BITS and BAI already and they sound lovely on their own, but I need context.

OTBOA is wonderful because each section is pretty discrete but flows nicely, and the whole makes each section work for me.

Just based off of the snippets, BAI

It sounds fresh and like something they haven't done in a very long time. I very much enjoyed it

reneranucci

The snippets, brief as they are, are inmensely superior to OTBOA, mediocre as it is.

Raoul Sanchez

I'd rather listen to OTBOA since it's a full song, but BAI sounds like it's going to the best song.

breaking all illusions really reminds me of learning to live, which is a good thing

senecadawg2

OTBOA sounds a bit like SDOIT and i really like it.

BITS sounds to me like Fatal Tragedy.

And BAI reminds me of Scenes as well as LTL.

Needless to say i couldn't be more excited about September 13th.

i love everything that I have heard but BAI is definitely my fav. The "chorus" literally gives me goosebumps.

Oops, i accidentally clicked "Bridges in the Sky," but I meant to click "Breaking All Illusions."  That snippet is just killer.

I'm really excited to hear full versions of both snippets but as James said, OTBOA is the only one that lets you get a whole, complete, experience, and after spending some time away from it (until yesterday I haven't listened to it since it was released) and its really really good, so that.

DarkLord_Lalinc

On the Backs of Angels is a cool track, fresh.

The Bridges snippet sounds really heavy and interesting, but I need to listen it in a bigger context.

Breaking all Illusions...holy shit.

Dynia

Breaking All Illusions, by far. OTBOA and BITS teaser were very nice, but BAI... just wow. One of the coolest moments of their music.

j

Easily this latest one.  I've only listened to OTBOA a couple times, but I really liked it.  And the BitS teaser was all right.

But this one...damn.

Liberation

Decided for On The Backs of Angels - it's a full song, I heard it live (and it was awesome), and it's a really, really good song overall. It's atmospheric, it's catchy, it's complex - all of these are important.

From the teasers, Bridges In The Sky sounds great, quite dramatic which I really like.
Breaking All Illusions... well, seems I'm the minority, but it didn't impress me that much.

Jaffa

I think it's stupid to call a snippet superior to a full song.

That being said, the snippet of Breaking All Illusions is superior to On the Backs of Angels.

I really don't want to jump on the bandwagon on this one, but bandwagon or no bandwagon, I can't help it: BAI sounds absolutely amazing to me.  I've really really enjoyed OtBoA, and the BiTS snippet sounds pretty cool and all, but BAI is just on a whole other level in my mind.  It's gorgeous.

robwebster

Backs of Angels.

BAI sounds like it's gonna be pretty killer, but - for once - I'm not hearing this sort of arrow from the sun that everyone else is hearing.

Maybe it's 'cause, as fantastic as BAI does sound, I reckon you could find slices of music just as orgasmic if you were going to take a minute from The Count of Tuscany, for instance. Or maybe it's 'cause I don't think Dream Theater ever left, so hearing something that sounds a little Learning to Live-y doesn't affect me like an unexpected gift from the gods. Whichever way you slice it, I'm sort of seeing business as usual. Very good business, a massive step-up from the last album, and a much-needed change of gears, but that's nothing I hadn't figured out from listening to OtBoA already.

Given a choice between a fantastic song, and a fantastic teaser, the song - by my book - kind of trumps in the trailer's face and gives it pink eye, purely by merit of having a narrative, a conclusion, tension... well, by merit of being a song. OtBoA is just as many heads above BCSL as the minute of BAI is, and the promise of future greatness isn't much good for the here and now.

BAI's stoked the fire, but OtBoA is quality and substance. You can't beat that.

Same here. Though I wouldn't be surprised if BAI ended up being my favourite song on the album.
Whoaaaahh, ohhh, ohhhhh. Whoaaaahh, ohhhhh, ohhhhhh. Waaah, ahhh, haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaowwwwww

Metabog

I think the real question is "how incredibly much do you like BAI?"

Groundhog

BAI teaser is incredible!  :hefdaddy

That was just how I like DT. Progressive and melodic. Ending sounded something like from JR's solo album.

Audio quality on the other hand was the exact opposite. Seriously, that just was not good.

Breaking All Illusions.

I liked all of them, but that´s my favourite.

Super Dude

My opinion follows the poll to a T, except I'd say OTBOA is a closer second.

DetonationSequence

I love OTBOA to bits, I think there's only a few songs since Octavarium that equal or exceed it, but the BAI teaser is on a whole other level. Even just that single minute is chock full of everything I love about DT.

Ultimetalhead

One thing I'm loving about these teasers is that it seems like every era of the band will be represented, along with a new touch. Bridges sounds like a bit of TOT, OTBOA is channeling I&W, and BAI seems like a big melting pot of everything.
