I was just kind of curious, I usually download everything nowadays but I am most likely going to buy the CD on this one.

BlobVanDam

Probably the CD/DVD one. Not the super NASA deluxe box set though, and I don't buy digital only albums.

Lacks "vinyl" option ;)

I think I'll end up buying the CD+DVD and the vinyl. I thought about the deluxe edition but I decided... well, it has some cool things in it, but nothing REALLY awesome (like the super deluxe edition Steven Wilson releases - other than the photo albums which are incredible, Insurgentes had a disc with 5 bonus songs, The Incident had the 5.1 mix [plus I simply cannot imagine listening to the album without the photos now], Anesthetize had the audio version and bluray), and since there are lots of great album releases this autumn, I need to decide on something... so I'll stick with the normal versions.

petrucci07

You're missing the CD/DVD option.

I'll buy the 2 disc; I KINDA want the box set, but I know I'll never use the vinyl or the instrumental CD.

tri.ad

Most likely the regular CD. I don't have a record player, so vinyl is out of the question, and the DVD doesn't offer anything that's new or interesting enough for me (it's only the TSCO documentary and the instrumental versions, isn't it?) that makes me want to spend the extra money.

The only thing that convinced me to buy the boxset for BCASL was the stems. Barring that, there's nothing to entice me to buy the boxset this time. The CD/DVD version has everything I'm interested in, and the vinyls for my BCASL boxset have just sat in the box anyway, and this would be the same.

lordxizor

I've made the plunge into only buying digital copies these days. I never use the physical CDs anymore anyway.

I'm holding off to see if Roadrunner will offer a CD/t-shirt bundle like they did a week or two before Queensryche's recent release.  If that doesn't happen, I'll get the CD/DVD.  I'd love the deluxe, but I wouldn't use half the stuff, so it would be a waste for me.

cd/dvd, already preordered.
the uber edition is too expensive.

Jamesman42

CD only. Will Amazon have a "download only" option? If so, what file format would that possibly be? If it's MP3 screw that, I will buy the CD at a store.
\o\ lol /o/

I've never done it before, so i've gone for the Deluxe Edition.... It definetely not worth the price for itself, but i thought this was the right occasion to do it.

BlackInk

Wait for someone to gift it to me, I actually allready know it will happen, and it's going to the super NASA edition. *am happy*

nikatapi

Probably the regular CD, unless the special edition (CD-DVD) has a different (and better) artwork. To be honest i expected something more than the documentary already available on Youtube, like some full song performances with Mangini.

Zydar

Will the documentary include stuff that wasn't on the three YouTube episodes to make it "exclusive" for us who are buying it? Do we know anything about that?

It will probably be the same as on YouTube as it's also 60 minutes.

This.

Exactly this.

Really hoping the vinyl is easy to find over here in UK, i'd get the CD/DVD plus it, in that case. If not, might end up getting the deluxe box (like it's going to be hard convincing myself to buy it...).

Wait, we already know this? That's a shame then. At least the full Mangini auditions would have been cool, and *all* auditions would have been orgasmic.

I will actually have to see how I get the album,as I might be in some obscure country. I might have to rely on my brother to send me mp3s, and then I'll buy the CD when I get back.

EuropaEndlos

Got 3 disc for BC&SL, listened to disc 1 like 10 times? disc 2 like 5 times, and disc 3 never...

Probably just the regular CD this time around!

wasteland

CD/DVD. The DVD is worth paying 1€ more, I suppose.

Ben_Jamin

CD/DVD, I personally love buying the physical cd's because I can just rip them at good quality. Then put them away unless I feel like listening to the album fully in my home.

unklejman

I really think they shot themselves in the foot by not including the instrumental tracks on the CD/DVD version.  I'm probably just going to get the CD.

CD/DVD. I usually just digitally download most of my music, but for my favorite bands I like to have the actual CD. I would like the special edition, but I can't afford it right now. Although that "DT Tickets For Life" thing is extremely appealing.

TL

CD/DVD, assuming stores here only charge a few dollars more than for just the CD.

Regular CD for me, and I'm usually a Special Edition kinda guy.

There just isn't enough going on with this release to entice me enough. Like others have said, I'd really love for the DVD to focus on MM to provide some new content. That'd be some damn good content. Interviews with MM, his full audition (or most), or even some in-studio footage.

The instrumentals are alright, I never listen to them. The only time I ever use the BC&SL ones is to play a JP solo.

Ħ

I haven't bought music for a while, so I think I'll go deluxe.
