Howdee Strangers,

So there I was (here I am), sitting in the living room, minding my own business, when all of a sudden, Bombay Vindaloo (from the seriously under appreciated (IMO) album, 'Live at The Marquee' - for any DT rooks) starts playing on my "Sexy DT Tracks Part 2" playlist (ya know, the kind of music JMX makes under his porno music songwriting alter-ego, Long MyHung).

Then, out of nowhere, "On the Backs of Angels" from DT's forthcoming 'Developmentally Challenged Unicycle Rider (DCUR)' album, randomly starts on my iTunes player.  This may have been anywhere from 7 and 27 seconds into Bombay Vindaloo.

So, instead of taking another practice test for my L&H Insurance License exam (which is tomorrow at 12:30 PM CST), I began what has become a 2-3 hour re-introduction & newfound rekindling of my "old DT fan" self.  Ya know, the way you felt the first time you heard the last section of 'Learning to Live'...friggin' indescribable vibes.  Wow.  I digress...

Anywho, the subtle noodling from JMX and JP on BV mixed with the rendonk intro to OtBoA, it sort of "clicked".  Almost like JP (on LatM) was improvising over the new track.  Like Buddah...

Maybe it was the tuning. Maybe it was that last Shiner Bock.  Or maybe it was just one of those mathematical, once in a lifetime (not the DT Truck Stop Jams Live Album by a similar name) things that just happens and blows you away when you least expected it.

Then I remembered DT and how fucking awesome they truly are.

With MP and without MP alike.  With KM, DS, and with Theresa Thomason, Doug Pinnick, Jay Beckenstein, the cello dude from Vacant, the Awake rapper dude from Voices, and the Wolfman from the PMU video.  Good stuff all around.

Drama is for the goth kids.  This is Dream Theater.

And they've been rocking my tits off since the 7th grade.  And God willing, will most likely continue to do so until JP literally becomes a bear & eats JLB.

So here I am, procrastinating some more when I should be studying.  I'll probably pass, but I do know one thing for certain...

...I'm grabbing one more brewsky, putting on a little 'Another Won' from Score, and dropping into a much-needed DT sonic-coma.

Not too shabby.

Until next time, pendejos.

Developmentally Challenged Unicycle Rider? :lol
Well on one hand, he's silly enough to take a chance on a breaking rope up where there's almost zero oxygen right above occupied air space. But on the other hand, he has the coordination to learn to ride a UNICYCLE on a ROPE, and was smart enough to build up the resistance to the low air pressure to remain conscious. For all we know it's just a big publicity stunt. I mean, after all it did get him on Dream Theater's latest album cover. Greatest acrobat ever, or contender for a Darwin award? You be the judge.

In fact, his work is so legendary, he's on TWO album covers.

I think it's RR's new Hipster-targeted marketing that's truly to blame.

"Oh, this?  It's just my ironic unicycle.  I always ride my ironic unicycle when wearing my suspenders and yellow shirt with my fedora."

Ironic? Does that mean it has lots of iron? Sounds like a nutritous meal for a certain bear who eats unicycles with guitar solos.

Common mistake. That's actually his brother, and not the same guy. They both learned to ride the unicycle, but had a falling out when brother wanted to ride a giraffe unicycle instead. In carny terms, that's like joining opposing gangs.

For some reason this thread made me think of Mark Prindle.

UPDATE:
Time Spent On 2nd of 3 Practice Tests - 0.5 minutes
Time Spent on Beer Retrieval - 8 minutes (total)
Time Spent on Dream Theater random track choice - 35 minutes
Another Hand/The Killing Hand.  Oh yeah, that's a good song.

What now?  At least attempt to take at least THIS practice test.........while listening to HK - Lines in The Sand.  I'm 28 years old and haven't really studied for something since college...6 years ago.  I remember now.  I remember how it started.

Hold it now!  Wait a minute.  Come on (my tits)!! (phewww); Just let me catch my DEVELOPMENTALLY CHALLENGED UNICYCLE RIDER's breast.

Stay tuned, los manos sucios!

UPDATE #2:

I know this shit.  I should probably study a wee bit more, but DT is flowing like mayo out of a Double Whopper with Cheese DEEP into my eardrums, and I have no intention of going to sleep for at least 13 minutes.  Okay...30, MAX.  I'm not fucking around anymore, silly face.

I'm getting married on October 1st and I asked for a Majesty symbol grooms cake.  Also mentioned a Randy Rhodes flying V guitar-cake...ya know, the one with polka dots?  Or Dimebag's Lightning Bolt Dean guitar as a cake

I forgot how much I like DTF.  It's good to be back  :hat

P.S. - I have a confession to make:  I have never once before dreamed of Mike Mangini experimenting with dildo drumsticks.  Not even once.

It feels great to know that I'm not the only one who's spending time on listening to DT instead of learning for an exam.

The OP reminds me of the way Blair from toolband writes "Newsletters". :P

It's also mindblowing when he does all those ultra-high parts. I love those.

I am very happy to report that I just PASSED the exam, despite spending around 4 minutes reviewing and 122 minutes jamming the Theat' (what I have now decided to call DT).

Since I have the rest of the afternoon off, I think I'm going to create a new playlist, tentatively titled "JP's Infant Marsupial Mauling Mix 4"

Now that my tits have been rocked off, I think I'm going to do the noble thing and pick those nipple-bags up, dust them off, and reattach them to my torso in anticipation of getting rocked off again later this evening.

Until then, my fine gringos burritos.

The OP reminds me of ZBomber's real letters.

It's daylight savings time, brah.
