A.

I like the subtlety of the green, and while I also like how the red pops out at you, I'm old and boring and it always bugs me when titles aren't capitalized.  I'll take all caps over all lower-case, and in this case that's the tiebreaker.

C (Traffic Lights) was easily the best, but of the two options - B. The Red around the DT logo traffic sign plays off well against the red font. The green font simply gets lost in the busyness off the image..

SuperTaco

I own the traffic light version as well. It's a nice looking cover to enhance my collection. Very rarely does it get used these days though. :lol

False.  WDADU is the worst them.

No...he is correct.   SC is the worst DT album by a long shot.

And I simply cannot vote without option C.  The traffic light was the best cover.

Of the two picks, I'll pick A.  Red font just overpowers everything for some reason.  The pumpkin one is the best, however.

SC->BCSL->ADTOE was an amazingly bad sequence of album covers.

I love the SC one, but the other two I agree one.

I never liked SC. It's too cluttered, two bad analogies on top of each other ("lol, interweaving highways are systematic chaos; and so are ants!"), and the DT sign looks out of place and forced. To be honest, they should have axed Syme after that cover.

The execution isn't perfect, and I agree on the sign (although it doesn't bother me), but I don't think there's anything wrong with the concept, and I really like the overall image, and the style.
BCASL doesn't really have any sense of style or composition imo, and I don't like the prog medley style covers in any case, and ADTOE feels silly to me. But SC is definitely a step above those to me.

I'm surprised the band members aren't standing dispersed on the highways. One more item, you can do it!! :lol

Seriously, Syme's layering approach makes for such inorganic album covers. They always feel like the emergency landing instructions you find in the seat on a plane.

What do you mean by "Originally came out" and "final product."  Are you referring to a re-release?   My CD has the red art and I'll be damned if I didn't get it the day it was released (actually, upon reflection I got the album a month before its original public release date).

Zook

He means when the art was first released. Like the original Octavarium art before it was fixed, or the DT art with the visible cut off. A teaser if you will. Rough draft.

EDIT: Although in Syme's case, he believes the rough draft is the final product...

RaiseTheKnife

Gotcha.  Would be curious to see what needed afixing on the Octavarium "rough draft."

As far as the change on SC, I think it was a smart decision.  The albums title simply stands out better in red.

Of course, these opinions may be a case of one growing accustom to the version they FIRST saw.

Thanks for posting.  so it appears the original font was a light blue, not green.

I do like the whole highway overpass thing, but my love of sunsets puts the traffic light special edition a few points over.
