I really, really hate the term "Cheesy" when it comes to music. Yeah, something might be dated, as in, that particular sound might be heavily embedded into that era, but I don't think that makes it cheesy. Even taking a band like Supreme Majesty (little known, but best example I can think of) whose modern music sounds very much like 1980's metal. It might be a little throwback. But I wouldn't say cheesy.

The only music that I'd call cheesy is the music that tries to be cheesy. Weird Al, for example.

So yeah, Another Day might have a very late 80's, early 90's sound to it, but I wouldn't call it cheesy. You know what else should be 'cheesy' by those standards? "Take The Time" when I heard that song the first time, I was like, "Man, this song is so 90's!" Still, I wouldn't call it cheesy.

I didn't say opinions get me angry, I said the idea that people aren't able to enjoy some songs gets me angry. When you really appreciate something, there's always the tendency to wish other people can appreciate as much as you. That's all I meant.

I'm not sure how Forsaken can wind people up that badly. It's a fairly middle-of-the-road rock song, plus a cool time sig, a nice chorus, and a nifty solo. Even if you're not a fan, I've heard more offensive things at a WI meeting.

1. The Dark Eternal Night - The instrumental section is pretty good in truth but the riff, lyrics and that hideous rap are just embarassing.  And no it's not anything like death metal.  Death metal would eat that sh*t for breakfast.  It comes across as a bad attempt at nu metal, and that's unforgiveable, because even good nu metal was awful.

2. Honor Thy Father - It was a close thing between this and The Best Of Times.  The main reason I'm not too sad about MP leaving is that we can stop listening to his personal life confessions.  The 12 Steps thing was a cool idea but enough is enough.  On top of that, the rap section especially is just embarassingly lame.  And no Mike, it wouldn't have been any better if you had done the rap instead of JLB.

3. Light Fuse and Get Away - I'm not too harsh on WDADU because it's an album from a band finding its way but this one is just awful.

4. Anna Lee - I like ballads and I like a lot of DT's ballads but this just rips off Someone Saved My Life Tonight by Elton John.

5. Burning My Soul - It's just not very good.

Honourable mention for pointlessness - To Live Forever '94 - I avoided non-album stuff cos it was left off for a reason, but with this one I'd have to say "Why?  The first version was better anyway.  And it couldn't make Awake just like it couldn't make I&W."
