AcidLameLTE

Forsaken
Constant Motion
Prophets of War
The Ministry of Lost Souls
In the Presence of Enemies Part 2.

Seriously, what were they thinking when they wrote that album?

I can't see myself not liking any of the songs. I like some better than others, but I wouldn't want to eliminate any of them. I'd also say it's quite insulting to the guys in DT to say that you never want to hear again something they put a lot of effort into writing.

It's not about not liking them. It's about making difficult choices. "We implanted a micro chip into your brain. You have to choose five DT songs that you will never listen to again, and if you do, the micro chip will kill you."

I get it, but judging from the headline only, it sounds like you were to name 5 songs you hate deeply and want to get rid of more than anything. Not trying to criticize anything, but it's pretty easy to misunderstand.

VioletS16

Uhmm...

Constant Motion is the only one off the top of my head.
Everything in that song is unbearable. Lol.

And the Count of Tuscany.
Well, I would have to edit out a LOT but it COULD be good.

GasparXR

Raw Dog
You Not Me
Burning My Soul
Anna Lee (The verse has the exact same chord progression as the verses from Medicate in octavarium.... maybe transposed but it does, sing medicate along with it... not the reason I chose it but just an interesting observation)
Forsaken

JediKnight1969

The answer lies within
I walk beside you
The great debate
These walls
As I am

Plus, full WDADU except Ytse Jam.

smerfak

1 Wither
2 A Rite of passage
3 The Great Debate
4 Burning My Soul
5 Lie

I didn't take into account WDADU as I don't know this album well.

Well, I didn't create the thread, maybe that's what they meant. But I definitely don't hate the songs I chose.

Remmmemmbuuuur Meee, I gave you Liiiiiiffeeee, but you would not take it...

Shoot me in the fucking face. Most annoying lyric and melody in the DT catalogue, nay, in any discography of any artist since the dawn of time. Adjectives fail me when trying to describe how much I don't ever ever ever ever ever want to hear this song again. When contrasted with how much I love the rest of the DT library, it creates a metaphysical vortex into which all reason and logic are sucked for infinite time and dimensions.

Did I mention I fucking HATE this song?

Zook

The only song I could really do without is Prophets Of War. I wouldn't mind if that song was erased from my memory. Never Enough, You Not Me, The Best of Times, Burning My Soul, Just Let Me Breathe, Space-Dye Vest, New Millennium, The Ministry of Lost Souls, and A Rite of Passage at least have some redeeming qualities.

scoutmasterdave

Excluding WDADU because I find it largely forgettable, and in chronological order:

You Not Me (meh)
Beyond This Life (advances the SFAM plot, but otherwise not very interesting)
Constant Motion (easily my least favorite DT song)
The Dark Eternal Night (second-least favorite)
A Rite of Passage (also meh)

Vajra

A Change of Seasons
Metropolis
Octavarium
Learning To Live
The Glass Prison

But that instrumental section!

'Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday...'
'I wake up every morning feeling like P-Diddy'
'Swagger Jagger, Swagger Jagger, you should get some of your own...'

Maybe I'm blinded because I'm actually a fan of TMOLS, but Kesha, Rebecca Black and Cher Lloyd have more annoying lyrics and melodies  :lol

MasterLomaxus

Raw Dog  (It's just not very good)
Repentance (I find it to be boring)
The Great Debate (Probably my least favourite DT song)
Honor Thy Father  (It's the only DT song that I have listened to only once)
Pull Me Under (I've heard so many times, it makes me want to yack.)

Vajra

I honestly don't understand the hate for TMOLS. I think it's a beautiful, and powerful song. It's a strong 9/10 for me.

DreamerTV

Burning my soul
Forsaken
Constant Motion
The Dark Eternal Night
The Shattered Fortress

Tunnel Vision

A Rite of Passage
Forsaken
You Not Me
The Dark Eternal Night (Even though the instrumental sections are pretty cool)
I Walk Beside You (I never liked the U2 feel to this song)

setrataeso

Just Let Me Breathe
Scarred
The Killing Hand
Lie
Pull Me Under

JPX

This is easy...

1. Prophets of War
2. Repentance
3. Never Enough
4. Best of Times
5. On The Backs of Angels

 :chill

gabeh1018

1. the silent man
2. you not me
3. burning my soul
4. vacant
5. the best of times (really only like it for the very beginning and guitar solo)

the last one was very hard considering i would've put repentance, but still that song has more going for it then tBoT.

Even forsaken has more going for it and I like the vocal melodies in iWBy, also the shattered fortress could've been there but I find myself listening to it each week.

I would agree with this but I hate the instrumental section, without it it would be a top 10 DT song for me.

Daso

Repentance
Prophets of War
This Dying Soul
Honor Thy Father
Disappear

ytserush

Fortunately for me, there aren't many more than about five.

Anna Lee
Forsaken
Honor Thy Father
The Ministry Of Lost Souls
In The Presence Of Enemies I and II

commanderbob

You Not Me
Just Let Me Breathe
TMOLS
The Answer Lies Within
One Last Time

Hmmm, I looked through the whole catalog and those are the only 5 I'd nuke even if I had more selections.  Well, MAYBE Wither and Hollow years.  I'd be fine without the Baroness consuming me ever again.

sfam2112

The Answer Lies Within
The Shattered Fortress
ITPoE Pt.2

That's really all I can come up with.

Ħ

1. Afterlife
2. Cover My Eyes
3. Caught in a Web
4. Innocence Faded

As for the fifth one, I'm undecided between You Not Me and Prophets of War.
