A Fortune in Lies.

Congratulations, you're the only person on DTF that's voted for it so far! :metalol:

Also maybe I'm lame and un-metal, but I really don't get the love for TGP.  To me it's just another overlong metal song.

Hard to decide between Pull Me Under, 6:00, New Milennium, and The Glass Prison

I'm personally partial to 6:00.
This.

It was the first DT song I ever heard, and it has so many fine DT elements: the wicked drum intro, effective samples, heaviness, melody (she walks through the door), excellent solos, etc.  Couldn't ask for a better opening track.  Runner up: "As I Am;" if you're a fan of the direction they took on TOT, it's the absolutely perfect album opener.

Very difficult choice between TGP and ITPOE part 1. Mi vote went to the last one.

It just sounds cool in a way that most other DT songs don't, because of the general vibe of the song.  It's not the kinda song that makes me wanna headbang and go crazy for a few minutes, it makes me wanna get up 'n' dance.  It's funky and stylish and has pizzazz, I wish they'd done more of that in their earlier career.

Can't believe TGP is most peoples pick ! Remember the first time I heard it, couldn't believe that DT had turned into a Metallica/Megadeth tribute act.
Having said that the intro and ending is incredible.......hang on.....no its still doesn't do it for me !
6:00 !!!!

i voted for In The Presence of Enemies Pt. 1 'coz i think it kinda carried the whole album. i was blown over by just the first minute or so...
my second pick would have been 6:00 (makes me think, maybe i'm a sucker for drum rolls)

Dublagent66

Nekov

The Glass Prision. Followed closely by 6:00, not because I like it a lot but the drum part in the beginning is a great way to start an album.

Bonham

TGP and ITPoE are about tied for me, just above 6:00 and the new one. I like the new one.

Arnold Layne

Maybe The Glass Prison for newer fans, but Images & Words was my introduction to DT in 1991 so that's always been it for me.

Regression...
There is no need to discuss about!...LOL
