Hi guys, this is my first post here!I created this some days ago:

It may look a bit empty but it kind of connects to the story. The watch represents the break that MP wanted, the sea represents the guys rejecting the idea and the light that is rising in the background is the new drummer, bringing a new age for the band.I hope you like it!

Edit:I must admit I like it better now, here it is without the glow. Thanks for the tip, everyone!

Get rid of the clock/splash and it looks great.

And keep only the sea?It would be nice and plain but with nothing special,i think..

I was being serious. I don't need any visual metaphors. But a beautiful seascape, this is something I can enjoy.

Simply getting rid of the clown and tightrope would sure help the real cover, too.

Jamesman42

Man, you guys do some beautiful covers. I may actually take one of these as a cover art for my music player instead of the real cover, unless there happens to be something really significant about the real cover.

Also, it would be awesome to see people's interpretations of past albums. Was there a thread for BC&SL? I was self-banned for a while so I am not sure if there was.
\o\ lol /o/

This is easily the best fanart I've seen yet for the album. If they released this as the official artwork I would have shat my pants various times.

My one here, a lot of people thought it was legit, people used it in fake leaked song. BTW my first post here :)

The Silent Cody

Hello, that is one of my favourites, great artwork for Breaking All Illusions  :tup

Props to CountVorhees for making this picture after the Clearwater Beach JR video was posted. Perfect dramatic turn of events. I just spiced it up for an album cover

I actually had that picture turned into a small poster for my wall. It's awesome.

Very, very creative  :tup

Okay, seriously, people on this board need to go work for DT and make covers.  You guys are so much better than they are, no offense to them (because I like their artwork too actually).

This is really awesome  I would love to see some of artworks from here as a official DT artwork. Some of these are very impressive!! That one reminds me a little of A Rite Of Passage single cover, it's very Dream Theater-ish ;)

Seriously people, Y U NO WORK FOR DREAM THEATER?! Some of these covers are truly amazing. I am now much less pleased by the real thing. I absolutely love the idea in Steve's OTBOA cover  :tup.

In fairness, Steve has worked for Dream Theater.

I would say that Hugh Syme is, to his credit, a little more consistent than Steve, but given that Hugh's been doing it for decades, it's hard not to be floored by how often Steve aces it - and sometimes exceeds Syme's stuff. It's amazing that there's even a comparison, let alone how well they hold up against each other. Stellar stuff.

Steve I like your concept. I was looking at it and it kept reminding me of a negative, so I inverted it and I kind of like it better inverted:
