Since this topic is still pretty high on the list I thought I would post this interview with JP.  It occurred sometime around the release of Octavarium and he talks about the album from around the 2 minute mark onward.  I am sure a lot of you have probably seen it before but I never have so maybe some of you might like it.

I've not seen that in ages! I forgot about all the strangely placed music.

Also forgot how brilliantly audacious OVM is. Love that the leading progressive rock band spent an album channelling U2 and Coldplay rather than King Crimson and Yes. Everyone who hates it is perfectly right to, but I love that Dream Theater did it and that interview is threatening to seriously rekindle my love affair with the album.
