He's an extremely introvert and antisocial person.
Too bad they've never really evaluated whether Myung fitted the band on a personal level or not. He may not, but since Petrucci and Portnoy started the band with Myung, that has never been something to discuss.

However, I can imagine being tired of a person you don't get to socialize with much, because he constantly alienates himself and doesn't offer much support when you'd need it, sometimes it's hard when that one person does just not laugh at the same jokes. This may not neccessarily be a big thing, but may accumulate to something larger over many years.

I don't think that's how he meant antisocial. It's pretty common for people to misuse the term.

Hey, I hope no one thought I was trying to slag on JM - I think it's awesome that he's so elusive and mysterious - there's not enough of that in music anymore. I only asked in the OP because I just assumed he hung out with everyone, but I noticed he wasn't there at times when it seems obvious that he should be. I just wondered if I'd missed something - a comment from a band member, or JM himself to explain it. Didn't mean to start an entire speculation that band members didn't like each other. When I threw those comments out, my intention was to exaggerate the situation a bit - I thought it was obvious that I didn't think JM hated the other members or vice-versa or was anti-social toward them. Sorry it got blown out of proportion.

Either way, hefdaddy offered an explanation I actually hadn't thought of. It's really obvious - JR probably only switches on the camera when JM isn't around.
