I was wondering if there is any drummer you hoped or wanted to audition for DT, but eventually didn't.
I would love to see the drummer from Tesseract audition for DT as he seems to be very creative.

I would love to hear what Zoltan Csorz of the Flower Kings (my fav TFK drummer) would bring to DT, but I don't know if he's a big enough prog fan to commit to it.

YtseBitsySpider

Terry Bozzio.
Though Virgil was one of my other suggestions.
So I'm mostly pleased.

Bertielee

John  Macaluso and Bobby Jarzombek.

He's too much of a jazz guy to be a good fit for DT.

Drummers i would have love to see audition:

Bozzio for sure
Dave weckl as he is the best drummer out there in my opinion
Horacio Hernandez not because of style but cause he is my favorite drummer and he would have bring a larger horizon.
Johnny rabb would have been cool to see how the music would have sounded

Bobby Jarzombek

Charlie Z. Wasn't too struck on him to start with but after checking out more of his vids he impressed me.

Though to be honest the guys who did audition are all excellent.

reneranucci

Terry Bozzio just to see everybody worshipping him.
Martin Lopez or Gavin Harrison to witness some of those fantasy crossovers between bands people dream about.
Mark Heron (Oceansize) because I think he's a monster of a drummer, his style would fit perfectly with progressive metal, and I would like him to have more exposure.

Martin López would have been very cool, but it was a really unrealistic scenario to begin with.

The Silent Cody

B. Jarzombek.... maybe Hoglan, but that would be Armageddon ;)

Rambeaux

Nick D'Virgilio, Gene Hoglan, Raymond Herrera (machine gun triplets!  :lol), Martin Lopez, Gavin Harrison (although that would be a HUGE stylistic difference)

Basically this. But I mean, hypothetically speaking stating that Lopez gets over his touring anxiety and all that shit, he would undoubtedly be the best choice if you ask me.

Nick

I still think Nick D'Virgilio would have been perfect for a large number of reasons.

The more I think about this, the more I feel I'm happy with exactly who auditioned.  There are a lot of drummers I like, but the ones who were chosen to audition seem like the best possible candidates for this position.

Jarzombek.

I remember telling myself "how awesome would it be for Marco Minnemann to audition?" and when we find out what we all know by now I was like  :metal :metal :metal
