Disclaimer: before someone informs me of this, I know DT can do whatever they want.  I know it's their band, etc.  I just HOPE they go back to having only James sing and I simply described my reasons above. 

That would be going way back.  When was the last time only James sang live?  I first saw them on the FII tour, and MP was doing backing vocals then.

Either this, or some different vocal melody entirelly. A drum solo is fine but I don't want them sacrificing a whole section. That section is awesome, even if the vocals are not.

But like I said the other day, if/when they play "A Nightmare to Remember" with the new guy live, they should just replace the "Day after day' section with a short drum solo (since you figure he will get a solo section, just like Rudess did on his first tour with the band, and like Sherinian did on the FII tour).

After watching the audition video with Mangini quite a few times over the last 2 days, I've been listening to ANTR more, and I have to say, I'm a bit sad it will never again be performed properly (i.e., with Mike's vocals) again.  But such is life.  I hope we eventually get a Ytsejam release of some stuff from the BCSL tour, especially since it was such a short tour anyway and there won't be a live label release.  It would be nice if they threw something our way.

Remember when MP said they originally intended to compose the section in ANTR so James would sing it, and gave a few links of demos made for this part? What if James will just sing it that way?

Or even better; I remember when James said in an interview that Matt Guillory and him intended to use James singing with a rasp, Awake-like voice whenever Peter sings in Static Impulse before he joined JLB's band. I think that could be awesome
