Same as the Train of Thought thread.  These two albums seem to have the most disagreement from what I see.  Lately, there has been a number of times someone seems shocked at other people not viewing this as a top album.

You forgot the 4 option.  And what is with the 0 option.

yorost

Thanks.  I just typed them in quickly without looking.

Gonna take heat for this: 9th
I'm not so sure you won't see larger group around your vote than end up near the top.  We'll see.

njdtfan

6th but would be lower if not for the Epic title track.

When I think 8v, I really only think the title track.

oh, and IWBY is cool, too.

meh, its alright. im not putting too much thought into this.

7 or 6.

pick one.

Dr. DTVT

It floats between 7 and 8, but I seem to like it less compared to other albums as time goes on.  At this point, "These Walls" is still great, "8vm" is starting to become a chore to listen to, and the rest of it is average or worse for DT material.  It's not aging well for me at all.

8. No irony intended.
This, but it would be dead last if it weren't for the title track.  I find this album wholly unremarkable.

+1.

except for IWBY, which technically wasn't even written during those sessions (they wrote it during the TOT sessions but didn't include it, because they felt it didn't "fit" with the rest of the album).

This album is kinda like ACOS to me, in that when you think of it, you think of the title track, and then a bunch of other less significant songs.

I like TROAE quite a bit, and IWBY is a fun track from time to time, but the rest are meh.

I don't think I've ever heard this.  Where did you hear it?  That seems almost impossible.

7th. Patchy album. Has some tracks that gain masterpiece status, and some of the worst songs DT has ever written.

skydivingninja

I still like Octavarium quite a bit.  8VM, FII, and Awake are constantly rotating in my DT album rankings between 4 and 6 (FII is never above 5 though).  I'd say right now Octavarium is fifth, behind Awake and before FII.

Fifth. Just behind the holy four.

As an album, I love it. The flow, the production, and how it finishes with the monster title track. Always a refreshing listen from start to finish.

j

8th or 9th.  It flip-flops with Train of Thought.  9th right now.
