It will be somewhere between Octavarium and Elements of Persuasion.
The usual 8 track affair.
A couple epics.
A couple poofy ballads.
A power metal starter.
A wanky piano piece.
And some 20 minute finisher about a team of dogs racing in the Iditarod, discovering a long lost ship frozen in the ice....because of a MUTINYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

lol.  I really hope they get away from things like the last part of what you said.

I still haven't heard Raw Dog

Consider yourself lucky.  It is not good.  Like "You Not Me"-not good.

It is far, far worse than that. Aside from the intro, which is cool, Raw Dog is basically just shredding over heavy riffage.

Actually, I just listened to it for the first time in months. It's not that bad.

It better not sound like Raw Dog.

That was not even really a song, but just a string a riffs tossed in a mixing bowl.

Do you think that we'll be going to hear a lot of Morphwiz sounds from Jordan on a new album? I think that we will heat it for sure, but I hope not too much... I would love to hear pure piano mostly...

but that is just beautiful... :heart

and that is weird...I know that it doesn't have to do anything with new DT album, but maybe we'll see that thing flying on a shows  ;D amazing...

I don't think DT will be substantially different, they're still the same band, just with a new drummer. If the drummer is anything like MP then it'll be awesome.

So do any of you think that the new album will sound similar to Raw Dog?

nope.

Wasn't Raw Dog gonna have vocals?

That would be AWFUL.

And Raw Dog is 10X better than You Not Me. It's not a great song, mostly because it's forgettable, but at least it doesn't have a chorus that makes you want to jump off of a bridge.

Yeah I think various apps will make an appearance, but I hope they don't show up too often.

I don't think he'll overdo it, its not like there was a whole lot of bebot on the last album.

What's funny about Raw Dog is, I bet you some peoples mind will change if they heard it live. Its Rockin and real Energetic, like how AROP was amazing live compared to the studio. The only bad thing about Raw Dog is theirs no outro.

FretMuppet

I wonder how Jordan used the Harpeji / Eigenharp on the album

My concern is that there is excessive MorphWiz on the record. Unlike Bebop, this is his product and he'll see it as a great vehicle to promote the app.
From what I've heard, it makes some cool sounds but I'm more a fan of traditional keyboard leads. My hope is he uses it for textures and the odd solo.

Oh, and see how easy it is...

Machine Head...on Roadrunner...been around for 20 years. Just make a quick video to give the fans something.

FretMuppet

They should have a metal-dubstep breakdown :neverusethis:

I LOVE Raw Dog. Such a fun tune. Nothing to take seriously, not album material, but just very fun to listen to. And JM's wah-bass in the middle and the fast piano riff are so cool sounding.
\o\ lol /o/
