BTW, July 30th is not Dream Theater Day anymore. It is one of those ceremonial honorary things where that specific day of that specific year only is a day of recognition.

Cities or states will do it all the time. So if there is a guy retiring from the fire department and he is a good dude that volunteered at the old folks home in his free time, some city in Alabama might call it Fire Marshall Tito Day. It's not like the next year city workers would get the day off in honor of Fire Marshall Tito although they might call him up and ask if he wants to get a drink. Tito, I hear, likes tequila.
