Would it bother you if the symbol didn't appear on the next album cover?

?

I couldn't say I would miss it 'cause I think music is all that matters, but IMO there's no reason to stop using it.

It's odd, for as long as Dream Theater has had a symbol I've never once thought of them as a symbol band, if that makes any sense.

this post is hard to decipher. deceptively simple?

I need to stop drinking and posting.

??? That post made sense to me.

If they left the symbol off, I would draw it in on my CD case in majic marker.   If you disagree,   well...    you're just wrong.

I wouldn't flip out, but it would be my preference to keep it as at least one mainstay

This.  To put it another way:  I think branding is important.  The majesty symbol is part of DT's branding, and has been since the beginning.  Especially at a time such as now with some fans perhaps feeling the status of the band is uncertain, I think it is even more important than usual to offer consistent branding.  Including the symbol on the album cover art is a simple, effective, visual means of communicating that the DT brand is still intact.  However, if it is not included for whatever reason, it is far from the end of the world and wouldn't have any negative impact whatsoever on my enjoyment of the album.

They should get rid of the majesty symbol and the DT font and do something completely different.

Seriously, it's just a thing they put on the cover. Not that big of a deal.

Completely agree with this. If they were to not include it, I personally wouldn't really care, but you just know that some people would use it as a reason to slag the album off and claim that it's not really DT anymore.
