Listening to it now. Finding it hard to not list it as my number one... I'll have this same problem next time I listen to Six Degrees and Train Of Thought though...

made a CD of it for the rental car and went through it twice today on way down to San Diego...such a perfect album

I think every band with any kind of longevity has a 'Yellow Brick Road' - the ONE album that just is perfect, the one every other album is judged against, and the one that they can never do again.  SFAM was it, IMHO.  I agree - It just seems like they were trying harder.

JediKnight1969

Not just their best, but one of the best records of all time. A superb masterpiece.

I agree that it seemed that they were trying harder.  Had something to prove after FII.
Perhaps we will see that kind of drive after MP leaving.

I have SFAM and Awake as my top DT discs.  I see them as the pinnacle of two DT eras.

It used to be my favorite.  It is still up near the top, but there have been so many strong releases from DT and other bands in the last 11 years that it isn't in the #1 spot anymore.  But, again, still love it and it is still near the top.
