No.... only you :)
Just joking, I'm not, I'm waiting for Poland ;) (28th July  :metal :metal )

The Silent Cody

Darkmeteor

I wanted to go there, but I'm broke cause I just spent 2k on music gears, so I'm not going  :/

wasteland

Is there anyone providing information for tonight? The show was supposed to start 20 minutes ago...

The Silent Cody

...DOn't know, if it will be the same as yesterday I will be pissed :)

Darkmeteor

Don't worry about that, yesterday they had 1 hour to play, today they have between 2 hours and 2 hours and a half

So I would expect the same setlist as the first concerts, + probably more, which is what I'm really curious about

Spitfire

First post on the forums, but I have to say, I would kill to be at that prog fest. Haken, Vanden Plas and Dream Theater? For me, that's to die for!

Darkmeteor

I just found this on twitter, there are some strange things on that pic  ;D

Is that a Britney Spears shirt?

LOL.

Slightly humored me while we wait for the setlist :(

Darkmeteor

130 minutes since the gig started and no news nowhere, I think we can assume this is the longest gig so far

Both Rome and Verona were about 2:05 hours long, I suppose Loreley has lasted almost the same... So, the audience has probably just been blown away by Learning To Live  ::)

you can see JMX on the picture with the Britney Spears tour shirt, so they played :)

OK let me step out of perma-lurk mode to give a mini review of the concert since noone else has so far:

Setlist:
(Please take this with a grain of salt, it's by memory and I don't really follow DT that much after 6DoIT)

Under a Glass Moon
These Walls
Forsaken
Endless Sacrifice
Drum Solo
Ytsejam
The Great Debate
Peruvian Skies
Caught In a Web
Through My Words
Fatal Tragedy
On The Backs of Angels

Encore:
The Count of Tuscany

Comments:
Location was gorgeous, Loreley is basically on top of a hill surrounded by a forest and fields, overlooking the Rhine river.

Sound mix was odd, at least from where I was standing. JR was oftentimes not audible at ALL (the sound engineer may had well just pressed mute on the keyboard channels for the UaGM solo), which may be a first?
MM had a good sound but the snare was shifting in volume between songs, sometimes too loud and others too low. KJL commented on him sounding weird as well. JM was OK, and thankfully JR was clear as a bell, although notably high on the mix.

Mangini did a great job on representing faithfully the songs. Minor nitpicks here and there for die hards who would've wanted the songs to be played 100% like the album versions did exist (no cowbell on CiaW for example), but overall I think he is a more accomplished performer than MP and certain parts even sounded more well defined and tight imho.

Now is it me or is the song selection somewhat odd? My buddies and I jokingly commented that maybe they decided to play songs MP wasn't that keen on playing :D

Darkmeteor

Hmm maybe you're missing learning to live in the setlist ? anyway, thanks for the nice review

daydr3am3r

Definitely no LtL :/ You got me thinking however whether they skipped it or not. Soundcheck took probably much longer than expected.

Darkmeteor

Whoa that sucks... I would have expected at least the full set of songs since they had a 2h30 space and were the headliner  :-\

Anyway you got more songs than I did the day before  :tup

Not sure about why nitpicks for that.  Not even MP played his drum parts live 100% like the album versions.
Quote from: BlobVanDam on December 11, 2014, 08:19:46 PMHef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I can understand why they choose to play the same setlist each night on this leg of the tour (make it more digestable for MM), but I do hope no one went to two of the gigs (although likely). I hope they'll start to mix it up like they've done it the past on the coming legs.

The Silent Cody

I would want to see LTL again... @daydr3am3r Thank You for review and for setlist ;) I'm feeling weird because I probably know now setlist for DT concert in Poland, which is something new because this will be my 5th DT concert, and I was always not aware the setlist on Their concerts ...And know, I see that something really magic would have to happen to change the setlist ;)
That was a great setlist:

The Root of All Evil
Panic Attack
Another Won
A Fortune in Lies
Under a Glass Moon
Caught In A Web
Peruvian Skies
Fatal Tragedy
About To Crash (Reprise)
Losing Time/Grand Finale
As I Am
Endless Sacrifice
I Walk Beside You
Sacrificed Sons
Octavarium

Encore:
In The Name Of God

Encore 2:
The Spirit Carries On
Pull Me Under / Metropolis Pt. 1

At Poznań, Poland 4th October, Octavarium Tour

Got this bootleg. Very ill sounding and incomplete. But a bootleg, still.

Anyway, I too hope LtL has not been dropped definitely... :-[

The Silent Cody

No videos from yesterday's show at Loreley (hard name!!!) yet.... hope we'll see something... I've made setlist on setlist.fm...so far, and waiting for some live action ;)
And about Poznań concert, that was my first DT concert, I was really  :metal :metal because of the setlist... People were just crazy, just crazy... :metal :metal

Elite

I was there, just came back from the trip.

Setlist was identical to the earlier shows on the tour, but Learning to Live was skipped because the soundcheck took 25 minutes longer than planned. Problems with drumkits, microphones and feedback. I'd rather have had them skip TCOT and play LtL, because I'd seen TCOT before and would have loved to see LtL, but, ah well, they played one from every album, so I guess that's good too.
Just for clarification (it's on setlist.fm as well, but is incorrect, if someone can change it, please do so):

Under a Glass Moon
These Walls
Forsaken
Endless Sacrifice
Drum Solo
The Ytse Jam
Peruvian Skies
The Great Debate
On the Backs of Angels
Caught In A Web
Through My Words
Fatal Tragedy
Encore:
The Count of Tuscany

Location was beautiful and sound mix was odd, indeed, bit nothing dramatic from where I was. Mangini was overwhelmed by fan's reactions as well and the audience was good (and large) and where I was standing, everybody was into the music. one of the better audiences I've had at concerts.

Endless Sacrifice blew me away as a live song, damn, what a song to play live! As did Peruvian Skies and The Great Debate. Unfortunately, the audio samples on the latter weren't very audible from where I was standing, but it was alright.

One thing that I have to say again though, is that it's really DT on autopilot, and while they played VERY well (better than the last time I saw them) their stage performance remains a bit lifeless, but I must admit, it was WAY better than the last time.

Overall a very solid performance and I had a great time!
