I was thinking of going there. But as I live in Norway, I'd have to pay for both the plane and a place to stay, plus the festival tickets. But I was in London in May to see The Wall, and I don't know if I'll find someone to join me. But this would be completely awesome! A lot of great bands I wanna see other than DT as well, as Judas Priest, Queensryche, Slash, Spock's Beard, Neal Morse (and MP), Thin Lizzy, Jethro Tull, and a lot more.

WAAAANTS.

Actually, no MP at High Voltage. Some other guy plays drums in Neil's European touring band. It's a shame, but I know I wouldn't want my band to headline without me. ;)

Oh and see DT I guess. Pfft.

That's why I'm so excited! :P

Has anyone else's tickets arrived for High Voltage yet?  I ordered mine through HMV and they haven't arrived yet.  I'd be interested to know if that's common or should I contact them and find out what's happened.

Cheers.

Cool, Michael Schenker is playing a couple slots before DT. Whoever of you are going, whatever you do don't miss him. I saw MS a few months ago and he's on top of his game.  :metal

I saw him at Pentrich Rock and Blues Festival once.  It was embarrasing.  He was completely pissed.  Faffing around with the amp for half an hour, couldn't play a fucking note.  Just a fucked up mess.  Might see him to see if he's better, I've that he doesn't get payed if he's pissed though.  :lol

Yeah I know, but the reason I recommend him now is because he's got himself sober and is now on top of his game. When I saw him on the recent MSG tour his playing was simply amazing and he's really enjoying it.

Still waiting for mine. It's supposed to be a paper ticket that I exchange for the wristband, since I live in Sweden. No sign of that ticket yet, though. I might just have to talk my way in.

Hmmm, all overseas people have to pick up their wristbands on site.

Yeah, but they said on the HV forum that they're sending out a paper ticket, which I then exchange for the wristband on site. That's the ticket I'm still waiting for. Oh well, as long as they give me my wristbands after I show them a valid ID and my booking reference, I suppose it doesn't matter.

Getting close now! Fun fun fun!

I'm not even getting a paper ticket, but then I bought a VIP package, so I can't speak for the rabble. ;)

Lucky you...enjoy Lady Starlight  :rollin

Oh yeah to everyone who's going.  We're going to go to a pub/bar/club thing on the Friday night at Canning Town, like a HV pre-party if anyone wants to come! It's Bridgehouse 2, Bidder Street, Canning Town, E16 4ST.  £5 to get in and all money goes towards Celia Hammond Animal Trust.
Bands:
That Legendary Wooden Lion.
Slam.
James Charman.
Steve Swindells/Cardinal Biggles from Hawkwind

I sorted the ticket problem out. I had to change delivery method to "box office collection". Whatever works...

So, how does one recognize DTFers on site? Secret handshake?

alirocker08

woodonskins

For me it'll probably be my Yankees cap. Whoever has one could also wear the current tour shirt, ugly as it may be.

obscure

My MBA and ever hectic life don't let me be very active on this forum either  :-[ but my heart is with DT all the time...
I'll be there both days too... might even join the pre-party at Canning Town on Friday...
wish you all some unforgettable time with DT on Sunday!  :metal

Icebear

I'll be the one in a shirt saying "A Secret River". Also, I look slightly like a polar bear.

jonny108

Well over and out! Hopefully catch a lot of you around the festival or even at Canning Town if you fancy popping down!  I'm about 6ft tall, I'll be with 2 midgets, alirocker08 and my friend Diddy (oh and my Mum!!!) So I'm the tall one and will stand out!  :lol  Alice, you describe what we look like, I need to shower and pack!!! Hope everyone has a great fucking time!  :metal

alirocker08

Right, so Jon has short hair and a massive forehead. I've got dark hair and radiate awesome....

Well, we'll both be wearing spiky belts and band t-shirts, I'll probably be wearing dark shorts or a skirt with some awesome boots (with spikes), and I've posted enough pictures of myself up here for people to recognise my face *Is a camwhore*

I don't know how to describe Diddy, but Jon's mum is rather pretty with blondey-gingery hair.

So basically, look out for a 6 foot man with a massive forehead surrounded by midgets.

Woo Hoo - I just won High Voltage tickets in the Metal Hammer competition! Seeing DT tonight in Leeds too. Yay!

JoSeM90DT

Will there be a live stream from the show or something? As it was for the Download Festival two years ago.
