I don't know if any of you know about this band, but this could end up being a pretty fascinating collaboration.

What genre are these guys?

according to Myspace, they are "Melodic Metal"

Lowdz

Melodic Metal about sums it up. they are ok, nothing special. Pamela Moore (Sister Mary) sang on the last album.

first synth lick sounds like "motherless children" from Duel With The Devil

2Timer

Pretty cool...sounds like a sort of cross between Dio and Gotthard. I like.
Hopefully JLB doesn't decide to tour with them, write a new record with them and then decide that he wants a year off of DT or else he's quitting.  :P

Yeah, I did see that, but that's awfully vague.

elmatto

Yeah. They're nothing special. But I enjoy them.

Bone_Daddy

I think I just flashed back to a little Dio and Stryper from back in the day. Yes... I said Stryper.  :chill

SystematicThought

I liked what I heard. Are they a Christian metal band or something, because Bone Daddy's Stryper reference wasn't too far off.

Anyways, I liked it and JLB looks good in short hair in that picture, however his pose..  :lol

I don't think so. Most of their songs seem to be telling a story or something. But I could be wrong.

This band sounds really cool! I love supporting these bands that are just tryin to break in. Also ya James sounds great of course.

CrimsonE

I have their debut album, and "melodic metal" seems to be an appropriate moniker.  If I had to compare them to anyone, they sound a bit like Europe in their prime.

Edens Curse are an amazing band, I have both their albums and they are fantastic melodic, somewhat power metal.  Their second album, The Second Coming is absolutely amazing, I listened to that album so much when it came out.

The Second Coming had Tony Harnell (ex-TNT, Starbreaker) doing all the backing vocals and it was stellar.

I'm very excited about James doing the backings this time, and that clip sounds fantastic.  Can't wait to pick this up in March.

Seriously, I encourage everyone to check out The Second Coming.

Here's the video for Angels and Demons with Pamela Moore.  The video is possibly the worst video ever, but the song is fantastic.

Jesus christ that first video is a joke.

Well, I told you it was the worst video ever.

You are right, that video sucked!
I almost rivals Dokken's "Breaking The Chains" Troll 2 quality video

wolfking

Woah!!  Hang on a minute.  Breaking the Chains is easily one of the most entertaining and cheesy videos of the 80's.   :lol

Wait...yeah it's quite horrible, but it's the 80's, and George breaks chains with his guitar solo, so therefore, it's amazing!!

I'm listening now, sounds great so far (I've only heard the first tracks). Thanks for the recommendation :tup

Edit: I was reading about them on Wiki when I stumbled across this: "Eden's Curse played some shows and recorded some albums between 2006 and 2010. In early 2011, it was announced that James LaBrie would make a guest appearance on their upcoming release. Other than that, the band seems pretty gay." :lol

CrimsonE

After listening to their debut album again, I'd have to say they come close to sounding like the Killer Dwarves, especially in the vocals.

That's fucking gold.  :lol

Pretty plain cheesy metal. I like. And that first vid did suck lol

Dr. DTVT

The first video rivals "The Black Satans" video for "The Mutilation of Christ".

Yes, I know The Black Satans are a parody band

I still can't understand why the band let this get released.  Sure, they obviously have a limited budget, but come on, the effects were done from a 7th grader and the carry on from the keyboard is totally uneccesary.  The bass player is super chill, I think he took his own footage though. The guitarist is trying to be the biggest rockstar out there.  It's pretty cool that he plays a right handed guitar left handed though.  The pagan style stuff and the candles on Mike Edens table is just halarious and I love at 1:13 how he seems to have forgotten his own lyrics.  His dagger made me LOL too.  And the poor drummer doesn't even get a look in, what, we saw him twice?  We just saw the keyboard player scaring us out of nowhere with his growling like qualities.

Great band though.  Hopefully they can make a better promo video for the next album.

STEVETHEATER

This sounds very intresting, can't wait for the release.

I just heard samples of the first 6 tracks and loved what I heard, so I ordered it.

From the little bit that I heard, I would say they sound like a mix of Dokken, Leatherwolf and Gotthard. Is that about right?

Except the guitarist is no George Lynch, they haven't recorded a "Street Ready" and the singer is definately no Steve Lee (RIP). Other than that...
They are a steady 80s style metal band. Nothing new but enjoyable all the same.

yeah, what Lowdz said is pretty much right.  I guess they have some Dokken and Gotthard influences but they are a little more modern and power metal influenced.  It's great music nevertheless.

hefdaddy42

Well, good luck to them, and kudos for getting JLB to sing with them, but it's not my thing.
