If you can't figure out part the "chorus" is, I really can't help you further.

I'd need timestamps or something. I swear I tried twice and heard absolutely no similarities.

Think of the songs in terms of structure, which is where they are similar, if not the same. Each of DT's songs has a structure to it with a given description (which could be "verse 1" "chorus 2" "Meshuggah riff" "Beatles chorus" etc) that the band used as an outline to remember each of the parts and where they fit in to the song. Now if you were to take the structural outline of PMU and compare it to OtBoA for instance, you should see that they follow the same basic pattern.

A good example of this was the contest that the band did back in 2003, when they posted the structural outline of Stream of Consciousness online and encouraged all the fans to write songs strictly based on it. The resulting songs (at least the winning entry and 6 runners up) sounded different from SoC, but all followed the same basic structure and/or feel/vibe. Essentially what DT did with several of those songs is the same thing.

I don't have a lot of time right now to go thru a whole set of songs or all of them, but here's the first few timestamps for LNF/UaGM you:

LNF 0:42-1:12
UaGM 0:00-0:26

LNF 1:12-1:42
UaGM 0:26-0:51

LNF 1:42-1:58
UaGM 0:51-1:02

LNF 1:58-2:31
UaGM 1:02-1:19
(in this instance, LNF is way more crazy instrumentally than UaGM)

LNF 2:31-
UaGM 1:19-
beginning of verse

I'll check these out tomorrow. Could very well change my mind. I'm not trying to be stubborn but the songs are so musically different to me that I think the structural elements are really masked. I only say this because I've heard UGAM countless times and didn't hear anything the time I had listened to LNF.

Kinda like the beginning of The Root of All Evil copied the end of Octavarium?  :)

Ok, I really really hate this kind of thing "oh this band ripped off this band because 5 out of 10 notes are the same on these two songs and they even used similar chords, even though the context and feel is completely different it's a rip off!!!" and it's usually always a completely senseless comparison anyway. However this one is probably one of the very very few that are actually interesting since it's almost completely same as TDS, but I'm still glad it's in TDS cause it's one of my favorite parts of that song.

This one is clearly a rip off, noticed it the first time I heard Burn the Sun.

I have to agree that this one is a total rip off. The other ones are you can argue because you can find similarities in lots of songs and also I think DT really likes to demonstrate which bands have influenced them and therefore will make songs that sound like other songs.
