I don't know if somebody here came up with the idea already...but here i go.
I was just goinig through some youtube clips from the 70000 Tons Of Metal and The KISS Cruise and wouldnt it be great to have a DT Cruise?

Three days of DT insanity and no other bands.

A full accoustic show outside of the deck.
Every night an other setlist. What about a evening with the 12 steps with MP on drums, exclussive for the Cruise... now that would be special!
Jordan playing the Notes of a Dream in the lobby.
A solo set by James and his band.
Workshops from all members.
A big market with a lot off official merchandise, re-prints of classic tour shirts! ( Still looking for the TOT Hockey Jersey!!  ;)

Who would spent his savings for something like this?

As nice an idea as this sounds, DT just don't have the fanbase of a band like KISS to make this kind of idea feasible or marketable.

Not saying it wouldn't be awesome though.

Umphrey's McGee do something like this once a year I think, and they're arguably less popular than DT.

Tis BOOLsheet

Lol. Yes, I'm sure MP would be invited to that.

Never even heard of 'em, so that won't take any convincing for me. :lol

I don't know about that. Look how many people travelled to New York for the Score performance.
Quote from: wkiml on June 08, 2012, 09:06:35 AMwould have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

I have zero interest in this if JLB doesn't perform dressed as a pirate.

I'm also worried that if you go BF you'll try to injure JLB to get that $8000,00 kittie from Greg Williams.

This could definitely happen if 5-10 other bands performed... something like Progressive Nation on the sea. It would be great. Their music doesn't exactly fit the cruise atmosphere, but it'd be awesome

I'm just saying, if a band that is less popular than DT can do a cruise, I can't see why DT can't do one.

However, Umphrey's McGee attracts a lot of girls to their shows. I don't know if I'd want to go on a DT cruise (or any cruise) with 98% males on board

WindMaster

Hey man, bros before h*s.

This would be awesome.

rumborak

Yeah, what the hell. It would have that musky feel of a submarine ride.

Dream Theater may have hinted about this in Octavarium: Sailing on the seven seize the day...

Elite

Something like the 'Triton Power Cruise' that got cancelled.
The only thing I can find about it is basically this.

scRa are the resultaten of sound nog bring propey

ColdFireYYZ

That would be cool if they could get enough people to go. I'd like there to be some support acts as well, not just DT.

Shadow2222

If 70000 tons of metal can be successful, than Dream Theater could to. However, Dream Theater should simply join next years lineup for 70000 tons.

antigoon

mmm the smelliest cruise ever.

WindMaster

It'd probably be no worse than festivals.

jcmistat

I would go on this cruise even there wasn't many women.

Tis BOOLsheet

The theme of the cruise would be "There Will Be Dudes."
