All of this talk of finding similarities between songs within albums and from two completely different albums had me thinking of similar rhythms or grooves between 2 and I found one I believe would work. About 4:42 into Sacrificed Sons (after the bass intro), the drums and bass are grooving in a similar fashion to that around 0:46 in the beginning of ITPOE (albeit a tad faster and more intense in the latter). Any thoughts or agreements?

I pointed this out  a while back, but nobody else seemed to notice.. but the riff was so cool, they decided to use it again in a completely different song not linked in any way, shape, or form to another song..

Not the Natural Science riff debate again....

Yes, they are very similar.  Not exactly the same, but very alike, with much of the same thought process shared between them.  It's the same argument that you can make for the beginning of Hollow Years and The Best Of Times (at 1:44) having similar melodic lines.  Close, but not exact.

?

I've noticed the SS/ITPOE similarity too. I've also noticed that the "dark master of sin" melody in ITPOE2 is a bit reminiscent of the melody of Sacrificed Sons around 2.15 and 3.33. Also, 2.05 in The Dance of Eternity and 11.07 in ITPOE2. Maybe it's just me...

And have you noticed how that piano part in Learning To Live sounds a little like Wait For Sleep?

Too close to be coincidence I say...

Mechanix1911

YES!! I noticed that so long ago... And what ? says, the melody is very very similar, I noticed that too...

As well as the closing riff of JLMB.

What's that about James LaMotherfuckingBrie?

There's a part at the end of ITPoE2 that sounds just like a part in Prelude of ITPoE1. I wonder if that was intentional.

I remember that I made this exact comparison the first time I heard ITPOE pt1. Doubt there's any real connection, but an interesting similarity.

Dude, you seriously need to clean that crap from the bottom of your mouse.  (If that's you)

You would get so much more free flowing comfort with a clean mouse.
