So I finally got around to ordering WDADU online since it's the only DT album I haven't been able to buy in a store. The copy I received in the mail has a green background though. Is it some kind of misprint? I bought a used copy off Amazon but it didn't mention it being anything out of the ordinary and was only $5. Maybe they just didn't know what they had?

The Letter M

Pictures?

The only version of the album I've seen is the one I own, the hard-cover "out of 10,000" release, and the cover of it looks fine to me.

Maybe you have a rare copy that could be worth, like, a lot of money?

Found this picture online because I'm to lazy to take my own.

It looks like he's laying in a pool of slime.

I'm guessing you got a fraudulent copy.

It says I have a mis-pressing there.

Nick

In that case jack up the price and sell it to Zep.

I was hoping Zep could tell me if it's rare or if it's even worth anything. I can't find it on ebay so maybe that's a good sign. :lol

I think those are the French and/or German issues.

They were reissued when Images and Words exploded after the first album went out of print.  I've always thought it was a printing error that was never corrected. I never bothered with this particular reissue because I didn't like the look of it. I have the original and a few later reissues.

The original one released in 1989 is probably the toughest one to find these days and I imagine the "green" reissue probably wouldn't be too far behind. The "green" ones were the only ones you could find before One Way Records bought the rights (In 1996?) and repeatedly reissued it. The first reissue was pretty lame, but then they reissued it again in 2002 (10,000 copies, All Music Guide liner notes) and again several years later with Charlie's liner notes.

It is - the magenta and yellow separations were swapped.

Thanks Scotty!  I knew that once!

Awesome, thanks for the info! So this isn't exactly common but isn't super rare or anything? That's fine with me, I was just really surprised to see it when I opened up the mail today. :lol

ZeppelinDT

Yeah, it's definitely not common anymore, but when they do pop up they usually don't go for a whole lot of money.  I think there are actually a few different "green cover" versions.   I know there's the German CD version and the Korean cassette version... I think think there might be a Korean CD version too, but I don't remember for sure...

Perpetual Change

I'm pretty sure that's the version which is a concept album about Dominici. All of the lyrics and music are the same, but just have to think about it more. And that green slime is supposed to be what starts you with the answer-seeking.

This is exactly how my copy looks like, too. CD says "Made in Germany".

Cool, thank you!

Even if it's not worth a lot I think this is still a pleasant surprise.  :D

Hi...the background green is the CD German Issue (same background for the CD Korean) the other version are English and have the background blue.
You have also a remastered edition (10.000 copies) in digipak.
