This may have been posted/decided on already, but what do you think will become of PN?

DT will continue it
MP will continue it with another project
It has been retired

fadetoblackdude7

Personally, I think it's done.

PlaysLikeMyung

It's done

Or it better be.

If I'm going to pay to see DT I want more than 90 minutes

.....right?

I hope it's done. I was fortunate enough to see DT at their headlining show in Columbus during their recent trek through the United States. A 2-1/2 hour show. I want to see them play 2-1/2 hour + shows again. I did not enjoy going to PN08 and see them play 90 minutes, although the opening bands for PN08 were pretty awesome.

pogoowner

I loved PN when there were good bands (Opeth and 3). As long as the other bands are good, I'd love for it to continue. But I doubt it will.

Chino

I hope it's done. I thought PN blew.

fadetoblackdude7

I'm against DT's short set time, but PN08 was one of the few shows where every single band blew me away, regardless of the fact that the opening bands had bad sound quality. Also, Zappa was one of the most amazing bands I've ever seen in my life!

THANK YOU!
Thought it was only me who hated this PN thing.

Zappa had some really energetic moments, but overall were pretty meh.

This. Or 60 minutes as it was on the Iron Maiden tour.

I'm glad I did'n't go at all.

I think this is the last thing on anyone's mind right now.  Having said that, I'll be surprised if it ever resurfaces.

Jarlaxle

Well we know that DT most likely won't be on the bill.  :lol

I've seen DT three times, but I've yet to see them on a proper headlining gig (Gigantour in 2005, PN08, and opening for Maiden).  I'm hoping that when they get everything together they scrap the PN concept and go with a proper headlinging tour.  Ideally, it would be "an evening with" format, but I don't know if they'd want to return to that format again or not.  Does anyone know if any specific member of the band wanted to ditch the "evening with" format?

Gorille85

The Unexpect/Bigelf/Opeth/DT line-up was a terrific. I'm so jealous of you, egytpropeans people! >:(

skydivingninja

Zappa Plays Zappa was great on PN09.  I'd still love to see a DT headlining/evening with show, so I hope it doesn't happen again.  Unless it looks like this:

Dream Theater
Coheed & Cambria
Devin Townsend
Frost*

Gorille85

Unexpect
Porcupine Tree
Ulver
Opeth

Best line-up ever.

Rafael Guerra

I think it's done as well. But i would love a different kind of festival with 3 or 4 bands like:

-Dream Theater
-Porcupine Tree
-Opeth

Maybe they could play in different nights, three nights in a row...maybe that way, each band is the dominant one, i don't know. Maybe a PROGRESSIVE FESTIVAL instead of progressive nation?

*I still prefer seeing solo Dream Theater

Progressive Nation without a doubt was the leading cause of the death of Dream Theater as we knew it. Of that I am convinced.
Stick a pitch fork in it cause its well done!

Jarlaxle

That Progressive Festival would be a pretty cool event.

Lowdz

The PN tour was the first time I'd missed DT on a UK tour because I didn't like any of the bands other than DT. Although DT are my favourite band I'm not a big prog fan at all.

Gorille85

:omg: That line-up was awesome!! Oh well, tastes and stuff I suppose...

When I met JP last year, someone asked him if they'll be doing 'an evening with' tour any time soon and he just smiled and said 'Maybe in a few years, but not now.' I hope that answers your question lol

Perpetual Change

Transatlantic heading a progressive nation type thing would be amazing.

They had stopped doing it because it was a drain on them. And actually, though I don't know how much this will count for at this point, MP said a few months ago that the next tour WOULD be 'An Evening With'

MetalManiac666

I sincerely hope that they're done.

Birch Boy

I think Progressive Nation was a great idea, I saw 2009's and would've definitely seen this year's if it was gonna happen.
