The results are clear though... In fact I've been considering a poll which is the exact opposite - favourite album out of the six remaining ones, and these were the ones I wanted to leave out. Well, coinscidence. I may do it soon.

Darkes7

No, the #2435366 "oh no how can I&W be below place one" is...

So, even being tired of the endless "oh no how can you not adore I&W" bullshit is not allowed. Why don't you just add it to the forum rules that there's only one right opinion about the album?

Are you always so defensive?

I mean, it doesn't have to be number 1, but I would think something like Images and Words would be top 5, minimum.  :|

Darkes, for the last and final time, stop stirring up pointless BS.  The very next time I see your name anywhere near any controversy in any thread on this forum, you are out of here for good.  I'm tired of seeing yet another thread derailed because you see an opinion you don't like and internalize it and blow it out of proportion.

It's not that I hate the album. It's amazing (except for Beyond This Life). The problem I have with it is that if I can't listen to the whole thing at once, I can't enjoy it. I can't just listen to Fatal Tragedy because it needs the segue from Through My Words, but you can't play that without first playing Strange Deja Vu for the piano outro, and 1928 works so perfectly with it you might as well listen to that.

So it's the whole thing or bust for me

robwebster

I've got Six Degrees and Images & Words up there. The other two are towards the bottom, actually. Bottom three.

I'm stunned by how unanimous it is. That's phenomenal. Very cool statistic though.

I'm not surprised that it's the general trend, but I'm surprised at how little divergence there is. It's a very clean break after "two are, two aren't."

Wth are you talking about? It's not me who started it, not me who derailed the thread, and not me who was complaining about anything. All I did is a brutal crime which was posting my ranking of the albums like lots of people in the thread. And yes, I do feel I have the right to be annoyed when people continuously point out what's "wrong" with my rankings yet if I ever do the same thing it's considered thread derailing, baiting, or however the hell it's called in your dictionary.

I'd be grateful if this time you actually replied, as it's something that hasn't happened for a longer time.

How are these either remotely on topic or remotely anything but counterproductive?

The fuck? Scenes??? The fuck???
Fwiw, I'll add to the "Scenes near the bottom" pile.

8th on a good day. 9th on a bad. It's good, but nothing stands out. There are better instrumentals than O1928 and Dance, better and more concise rockers than Home, better sprawling-proggy-songs than BTL, and a couple too many ballady bits for my liking - THE doesn't do much for me, for instance. It's good, but not stunning. Stalwart DT - it's good, serviceable, and perfectly enjoyable. But it doesn't go that extra mile and give you something marvellous and different. Within the context of the catalogue, it doesn't have anything to write home about, whereas all the other albums do, by and large.

MykeHavoc

3 are in my top 4:

I&W
Scenes
Awake
8VM
6 Degrees
BC&SL
FII
TOT
WD&DU
SC

They're exactly what I got yesterday in the production thread, only 90% less since I'm just me and not a half of DTF gangbang.

bosk1

Irrelevant.  They are still both off topic and counterproductive to any positive discussion.

Well, the sample size isn't that large.  There are only 10 albums, and since in general those 4 tend to be always listed among favorites, there are fewer opportunities to fall outside of the top 4.  If we did this with Iron Maiden or Rush (assuming we could deliniate a top 4 as there seems to be more spread) who have more albums (14 and 18 not counting Feedback) there would be a lot more spread.
