My buddy and I came up with this idea for a playlist... apart from "Glass Prison" and "Nightmare to Remember" I'm frankly drawing a blank, and could use your help. What DT tracks has MP featured on vocals? I'll update the first post for any fellow bluebeard-minded fans.

EDIT: Remembered "Repentance" and "The Shattered Fortress".

  • The Mirror

  • New Millenium
  • Hollow Years
  • Burning My Soul

  • Fatal Tragedy
    • ("There can be no turning back", "There can be no peace of mind")

  • Beyond This Life
  • Home

  • The Glass Prison
  • Blind Faith
  • Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence

  • As I Am
  • This Dying Soul
  • Honor Thy Father
  • In The Name of God

  • The Root Of All Evil
  • The Answer Lies Within
  • I Walk Beside You
  • Panic Attack
  • Octavarium

  • Forsaken
  • Constant Motion
  • The Dark Eternal Night
  • Repentance
  • Prophets Of War
  • In The Presence of Enemies Pt. 2

  • A Nightmare To Remember
    • ("It's a miracle they lived, it's a wonder no one died, by the grace of God above, EVERYONE SURVIVED! ROOOOAAAARRRRRR!!1111!11!!!!!")

  • A Rite Of Passage
  • The Shattered Fortress
  • The Best Of Times
  • The Count Of Tuscany

Adami

Lots of them. More new ones than old ones. I can't remember before 6 degrees, but here's what I got, though there's more to add.

Panick Attack.
The Root of All Evil
I Walk Beside You
In The Name of God
As I Am
Prophets of War
The Shattered Fortress
Repentence
The Count of Tuscany
The Dark Eternal Night
A Rite of Passage
New Millenium
Hollow Years
Octavarium
Blind Faith
Forsaken
Constant Motion
In The Presence of Enemies Pt. 2

There's more. But that's a decent list, unless you don't count songs with him just doing back up vocals.

Hell there are a lot!

The Mirror
Burning My Soul
Beyond This Life
Home
SDOIT
This Dying Soul
Honor Thy Father
The Root Of All Evil
The Answer Lies Between
Forsaken
Constant Motion
The Dark Eternal Night
Repentance
Prophets Of War
A Nightmare To Remember
A Rite Of Passage
The Shattered Fortress
The Best Of Times
The COunt Of Tuscany

And I'm sure there are more.

Adami

Oh yea, forgot the mirror.

Can future posters just add to the curent lists instead of rehashing every song?

Fatal Tragedy

(There can be no turning back, or, You can eat my..., if you will)

Adami

Is Portnoy singing on Honor Thy Father? Or this dying soul? Which parts?

Wow, I had no idea there were this many... are most of these backing vocals? What parts does he sing specifically? I'll add that info in... time to start spinning some tunes!

YtseJamittaja

In The Presence of Enemies Pt. 1 (it's not singing but speaking)
Strange Deja Vu

I don't know This  Dying Soul but Portnoy sings along when the vocals starts in Honor Thy Father

?

I think almost all of these are backing vocals, anyway:
Just Let Me Breathe ("step right in")
Through Her Eyes
One Last Time
Finally Free
Misunderstood

You're right on the Honor Thy Father thing, forgot about that.

But is the speaking Portnoy? It might be Petrucci.

Where in Strange Deja Vu is portnoy? All of the vocals sound like James.

Nope, it's planned. It's probably easier for JLB to come right in at "Owiiiiigh think it's time for a cha-ee-angeee!!" as opposed to doing the whole beginning.

I imagine it's more for fans to be entertained with cha-ee-angeee on an old song. I can't really see how it would be easier.

My bad. He doesn't sing on the studio version, but in L@B he does sing. I thought he sang them on the studio version too.

It's a keyboard sample! That's allways what I've thought, it doesn't sound like MP or JP

Adami

Live it's obviously sampled. But I doubt there's any samples out there of a random person saying "My soul is yours dark master, I will fight for you".

Yeah I know, it sounds wierd, but the voice is verry...changed :D ehe...it does not sound like a humn being ^^

It has a lot of effects on it, but rest assured it is indeed a human being saying it. Probably John Petrucci.

Though I guess it's pretty arguable to say that Petrucci is human.

Backing vocals in the chorus, I'm not sure but it sounds like MP

Portnoy does the same on the Once in a LIVEtime version, with LaBrie coming in at 'I think it's time for a chay-ee-ange'

James LaBrie must've needed extra time to catch his breath...
