What would the Dream Theater video game be like?

I was thinking they should make a DT video game.  I was thinking it could be a point and click style adventure game based off the storyline of Scene's from a memory, where you would play as the dude investigating his past life trying to solve the mystery etc.

I also have another idea where you would play in the future where people have invented a device that records peoples dreams and you can watch them in theater.  However things go wrong and you the player have to journey into peoples nightmares and dreams which are actually levels in the game based off dream theater songs.  Some would be emotional and story based like heavy rain (Honor Thy Father, Root of All Evil, etc)  some would be more fantastical like gears of war or warcraft (In the presence of enemies, Dark eternal night, under a glass moon)    It would of course incorporated DT's music into the game, and maybe the band could write some new tunes.

I also think a dream theater inspired racing game would be cool...

Gadough

It would be worth it for the pure novelty of it, nothing more.

Zook

A fighting game like Mortal Kombat. James would be a drunken pirate armed with a shovel, Jordan would be an evil wizard, JP would be a deadly grizzly bear, JM would be a ninja, and Mike would be an acid spitting camel.

Zook

Dominici would be The Noid, Derek would be an over zealous fashion guru, and Kevin Moore would never be open again.

antigoon

A co-op side scroller a-la TMNT with each member having the powers they wield in the Octavarium video. Tell me that wouldn't be awesome.

In all seriousness though, with keyboards now in Rock Band 3 the idea of a Dream Theater centered music game is very possible now.

For whatever reason this thread reminded me of blob's The Dark Nintendo Night :tden:

HOLY SHIT I HOPE SO!!!!

It would be a very long game where you do nothing but look for nuggets.

Wow, that'd actually be really neat. That couldn't be too difficult to make...  -ponders-

Also, yeah, like it was mentioned, with all the Rock Band/Guitar Hero/etc games out now, it could be done.  :metal

Most strategy-based video games need a villain. Who would be the bad guy?

SystematicThought

Well, I think they could release a Math based game geared towards high school kids called "The Square Root Of All Evil" Which involves solving square roots leading to the final boss that is a Square Root of All Evil

i want to play this game. labyrinth, squid, supernatural powers, bugs, the mission is to rescue JLB.

RoeDent

A game where you start off trapped inside an Octavarium and you have to get out by solving various 5- and 8-related puzzles.

Is there a secret level where you play as JLB and have to escape an 8 legged spider through said Octavarium?

I'm amazed it took this long.  :lol

Geoff Tate, David Prater and a sentient bottle of vodka would be sub-bosses.

Also Bowser. No real relation to Dream Theater, he's just a classic boss.

Zantera

A DT-guitar hero type of game.
The objective isn't to play the songs as they are, it's to strafe out in the weirdest and longest solo-wankiness ever.
The longer the solo and the more instrumental-wankery = profit.
In my spare time I make music! Check it out. :)

Can we have Sephiroth too? It just wouldn't be the same without him.

blackngold29

One of the bosses should be the werewolf man from the Pull Me Under video.

BRGM
