Cool interview! Did anyone else think it was a little weird that she was standing under some random bridge in the beginning?

skydivingninja

I still love how JP loves the Adam02 videos.  Best part of the interview though was the excerpt of "I keep it around 2000 notes per second" followed by UAGM  :lol

Don't care, she was hot.

Exactly, it was a hot girl who was talking about how JP is one of the best guitarists alive. Who could want more?

Sure, she was probably reading a script and has no clue who JP really is, but whatever, they're all pink on the inside.

Cool little interview bit.

The woman was below the bridge because the background looked a little "rougher" for her more delicate look. The story was about a heavy metal guitarist. She was good looking, but since she doesn't quite have an "edgy" look, whoever booked the location went with an edgy location, instead.

Actually wish that had been longer than three minutes, it was going much better than most interviews!

The girl's location reminded me of the one JP had for the making of SC docu, lol.

I think its pretty funny JP has to look up videos of himself on youtube to remember how to play something  :lol Great interview, seems like such a nice guy!

Plasmastrike

JP is such a fucking sincere person, it feels like.

Always love to hear from my favorite guitarist.

yeshaberto

that was an awesome interview, and JP seems like such a gracious, friendly guy

That's because they gave him tons of fish before and after the interview.

Actually the clip after the "2000 notes per second" part was from Afterlife's solo.

Dcrupi

Great interview!  Hilarious at the end with the dubbed over stuff...also really interesting that he looks up his own stuff on YouTube just to remember how to play it sometimes!  I guess it would get really overwhelming.

Petrucci is awesome (with or without the hyper speed mode)
The parody videos are pretty cool too. Has anyone seen the misheard lyrics?

Misheard lyric videos are getting so lame. It's no longer "misheard lyrics". It's now, "let's see what random phrases we can akwardly make sound slightly like what is being said".

This has been my opinion for quite some time now.

Normally I agree, but the first time I heard this line, I nearly peed myself laughing:

He goes into YouTube to watch people playing parts of his songs so he can remember how to play them?

Did he say he watches other people play them? Or videos of himself?

Both, actually

Adami

Whatever works for the guy. I have gone back to songs I wrote, and for the life of me can't remember how to play them. I'd love to see a video of myself or someone else doing it.

I thought, he being a Berkley musician and all, he could read Standard Notation which includes in which bar to play it etc.
