Cool, I'll check it out when I get home.

I'm spinning these electronic albums lately:

Trentemøller - The Last Resort (Lots of live instrumentation on this as well, monumental classic)
Jon Hopkins - Immunity (A beautiful and transcendent ambient techno record)

And of course everything by Boards of Canada..
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

Necro bump.

I've been slowly getting back into EDM and I just checked out the Urban Flora EP by Alina Baraz and Galimatias, the first track "Show Me" is deadly: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDugIEoFU9M

I've kinda gotten away from EDM over the past couple of years but I was bored at work so I caught up on Seven Lions work, he has made some killer music recently.

Oh almost forgot!

If anyone is a fan of Emancipator his live album is just incredible. His songs are played with a live band that really brings the music to life. Here is minor cause:

For anyone that likes retro/synth wave

The Midnight

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdrJefrQ0B8
I've been hooked on retro/synthwave ever since I saw Blade Runner 2049.
I've been spinning FM-84 alot this year. Lately it's been PYLOT and Dance With The Dead, good stuff!

PYLOT - Locke  :tup

I'll have to check it out. I never really got into the sythwave stuff.

Recently I've been checking out a lot of chill step artists, I'll post some links soon.

I've been on a Gareth Emery frenzy all year. I'm usually not that much of a trance guy, but there's just something about his music!

I only listen to this stuff occasionally, but I love this one.  Tiesto's used it in some of his mixes and performances.

Bump.

I rediscovered the album Nothing Lasts, Nothing's Lost by Jakub Zytecki. I wouldn't call this a traditional EDM album but more of a downtempo EDM record with some incredible guitar playing. I've been listening to it non-stop recently.

So modular synths is something i've seen but never really understood how they work. Here's a fun video explaining it and demonstrating how it works.
I would love to spend a night with a modular synth just creating patches all night long.  :D

I have a couple of synths that are semi-modular.  I've thought many times about going full-blown down the rabbit hole, but modular synths seem to be one of the most expensive money sinks you can get into in music, and I already have way more gear that I don't use enough as it is, so I've held off.

Electronic music is probably my second or third favorite genre.  I spent a lot more time on it than metal especially in the 10s.  The vastness of it is so daunting though, I still barely have a handle on it even compared to metal.  The synth-wave/dark-synth movement in the past decade has been one of my favorite scenes, with so many great artists like Perturbator, Megadrive, The Midnight, Lazerhawk, Volkor X, FM-84, Dead Astronauts, NINA, etc.

As many times as I've listened to Mezzanine, I've never really bothered to look up the credits for who is on it, which is kind of unusual for me.  This is a blow.  I'll have to spin it again and pay attention to his parts more.
