Way cool pics! I totally want to steal some to create art for my house, not sure anyone would be okay with that though.

Might as well upload some photos I took a few days ago while on a trip with some work colleagues.

Yes I love macro shots.

My newest batch of photos!
*snips*
Okay, that last one is pretty badass. How long did it take to do that? I imagine you had to select her, copy her to a new layer, and convert the background to grayscale? That detail is just phenomenal.
Listen! Do you smell something?

Thanks man!  That actually took me about 10 seconds to do!  Her shirt was the only purple thing in the picture so all I did was drop the saturation of every other color and whammo the shirt remains purple while everything else is grey scale.  I'm using Lightroom to do that, not photoshop
If anyone in this thread judge him; heyy James WTF? about you in Awake In Japan? Then I will say; WTF about you silly?

You could also just chuck everything to greyscale and then history-brush the girl.

No problems with me, if you want to. As long as you don't pretend you did it all by yourself. ;)

Any camera can take good pictures, you just need to know how to use it properly.

And Photoshop the hell out of it afterwards

Agreed. Bad quality can make things look awesome, if used in the right way... but it's not easy.

haha well if the battery lasted for more than 10 minutes, maybe I would be able to learn how to cope with the blurry zoom. :(

Thanks,

About the singer, well the dress she wore was so great. So colourful. It made such nice contrast with the environment. And obviously she is beautiful.
About the circus artist. I was experimenting with shutter speeds. This was a lucky shot.

I take plenty of pictures with my mom's nikon coolpix (not the small one.  The semi-professional-grade one.)  It's an okay camera.  i wish it had manual focus, but maybe if I get another lens it will allow for that.  Not sure.
Like I said, I take many pictures, mostly of nature, but I'm not sure how worthy they are.  Here's one I just took this morning that's pretty cool.  2 butterflies (mating?) that I actually didn't notice until after I uploaded it to my computer.

Hi all. Just got back from some stunning national parks in California. Here is a flickr link to a few shots https://www.flickr.com/photos/49198076@N08/sets/72157624542238240/ Could only upload 21 because of some stupid size limit rules. So that is only about 1% of the total shots I took  :lol

Any praise or criticism much appreciated.  :)

I like that picture very much.  It's great as is, but I wonder what it would look like if it was more focused on the waterfall.  I could do that for you if you want to see what it would look like. :p

Hell no. That picture is literally perfect; it has the perfect combination of every type of terrain and color. Don't touch it.

Haha, thanks. It's pretty old and not many actually calls me Arrie any more, but I like it anyway. It took like a year to make, since I don't have a drawing tablet and it's hard to make nice signatures without one. I drew it on regular paper, photographed it and then spent ages editing it to make it a signature in a Photoshop brush. I'm not doing it again as long as I don't need to. :lol

I don't know anything really about photography, gear or what makes a good photo. I feel so ignorant haha. But here are a few photos from a walk around a local reservoir. All you serious photographers critique them, I don't know what the hell I was doing.  :P

I have a few more, if anyone is interested.
