I came here to appreciate "... And the Distance" and found out they're releasing a new album. NICE :hat

Appreciate this new song my friend.

Speaking of Glorious Burden, I really liked it, it was a solid album, it was just really let down by the terrible production.

So, I read the comments on the Facebook page, and so far, I haven't seen a single bad word about the new song/video. How often does that happen?

When something is this good, there' no possible option to disagree.

Yeah, but usually, even when something is widely accepted as being great, there's always a few that want to be the stand out black sheep and rip it apart. But I didn't see one negative comment out of literally hundreds. Kind of surprising.

Oh, and speaking of the guitar solo, did anyone else find it a little bit reminiscent of the late, great Criss Oliva?

Not familiar with Evergrey, but the new song "King of Errors" is quite awesome.  I even hear some Queensryche Operation Mindcrime influences in it.  Good stuff.  Gotta explore the back catalog bit.

I'd start my exploration with one of the three following: Recreation Day, The Inner Circle or In Search of Truth. They are all awesome, and very little separates them in my book.

Is Solitude Dominance Tragedy not well liked amongs fans? That album is still my favorite. Not that the others are bad, but SDT is more memorable. It's also the first one I heard so that might have something to do with it.

I dunno. I don't find it bad, and it has some great songs, but it has that one song on it whose titles I can't remember atm that I really really don't like, so that drags down the album for me.

The only time I recall listening to it was that I was thinking that the production was almost unbearably bad. I'll check if that's still the case.

I was just coming back to ask where the love for SDT is?  One of my favorites, and I'll also be the first to say TIC was just ok.

Flame on!

I think we're all agreed that Monday Morning Apocalypse and Torn are mediocre (at best).

To be honest, I don't even remember anything from either of the two, so I'd probably agree with your assessment.

Torn is just way too muddy and compressed. There's some good ideas, to the point where I really feel that I should love it, but I simply don't. It's not a bad album though.

I don't really dig MMA that much, but there's one track that I adore. 'Still in the Water' stands head and shoulders above anything else I think.

Until recently I didn't care much about the albums pre-RD but in the last few months I rediscovered them and I was surprised of how amazing those songs are. When Darkness Falls - The Corey Curse in particular, the ending streak of songs are just killer.

I didn't. Rulers of the Mind, The Master Plan I always liked but until recently I didn't really like more than 5-10 songs combined from all the albums pre-RD.

Actually, come to think of it, it was a bit of a grower for me too.  I think at first The Masterplan and Triangle were ones that I was most fond of.  One day though, I listened to it and boom, the whole thing just released its magic, incredible album.

Not sure if anyone mentioned that, but King of Errors video consists of two songs: The Awakening (spoken intro) and King of Errors itself (starts with the riff). Probably obvious, but still.

Just finished the first promo listen, the album is indeed terrific. Already preorded double digipack limited edition from amazon. Gonna explore their discography further now.
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

Yeah, after I looked at the tracklist and saw King of Errors was track two, I thought this must have been the case.

Double digi sounds good, I wonder what's on that?

ooo, lucky bugger.

Just tried to find some info on the 2cd and came up with this;

CD 1:

1. The Awakening
2. King Of Errors
3. A New Dawn
4. Wake A Change
5. Archaic Rage
6. Barricades
7. Black Undertow
8. The Fire
9. Hymns For The Broken
10. Missing You
11. The Grand Collapse
12. The Aftermath

.

CD 2:

1. Hymns For The Broken (Piano Version)
2. Barricades (Piano Version)
3. These Scars (Piano Version)

Dunno if I'll bother with the 2cd if that's all that's on it.

I can't stop listening to "King of Errors."  I love that feeling of getting totally hooked on a new song.  Can't wait to hear this full album.  I can't imagine this album being anything less than an 8/10 after hearing this song and the album teaser.

If this album contains even one more song that is at least on par with King of Errors, then it already is the best Evergrey album since The Inner Circle.
