Pixel is correct. It's Bbmaj7.

I'll tell you what's stumping the shit out of me, though. The acoustic guitar intro to "The Aftermath".

Well, according to Jonas, Everygrey's new video is finished. I'm wondering what song it's for.

A new one?  haha, wishful thinking.

I still spin Hymns quite often, it's still as incredible as when it was released, top 3 Evergrey easily, probably higher.

Nah, not wishful thinking.  Here's a screenshot from it.

I still play the hell out of "Hymns", too.

I also spinn Hymns from time to time. I had it spinning in my car for about two month after release. I couldn't put it away.  :lol

The video is probably for the title track I'd say.  Maybe even New Dawn or The Fire.

Yeah, I think "Hymns for the Broken" would be the best choice, but I still don't know what song the video is for yet.

However, it does premiere on June 18th.

Another screen from it.

Black Undertow would probably be the last song I'd guess for a clip.

Yeah, same here.

I love this album to death, but I think they picked the wrong songs to do videos for after "King of Errors".
I would have done a video for "Hymns for the Broken" after "King of Errors", myself. I love "The Grand Collapse", but it really isn't the kind of song
that calls for a video.

I agree.  The title track definitely should have gotten a video.  Even The Fire would have been cool.

Woohoo, hopefully the new album will live up to it's predecessor because it's still one of my favourite Evergrey albums.

I overall like Evergrey, but Hymns is definitely where it is at for me, fantastic album and my favourite of theirs for sure (song writing, consistency, production etc.). I am looking forward to this one very much!

So my album ranking after spinning Hymns for almost 1 1/2 years:

1. In Search of Truth (2001)
Top 3: Watching The Skies, Mark Of The Triangle & Rulers Of The Mind

2. The Inner Circle (2004)
Top 3: A Touch Of Blessing, When The Walls Go Down & In The Wake Of The Weary

3. Hymns for the Broken (2014)
Top 3: Black Undertow, Archaic Rage & King Of Errors

4. Recreation Day (2003)
Top 3: Visions, Fragments & Your Darkest Hour

5. Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy (1999)
Top 3: Solitude, The Shocking Truth & The Corey Curse

6. Monday Morning Apocalypse (2006)
Top 3: At Loss For Words, Monday Morning Apocalypse & Unspeakable

7. The Dark Discovery (1998)
Top 3: As Light Is Our Darkness, Beyond Salvation & To Hope Is to Fear

8. Torn (2008)
Top 3: Fear, In Confidence & These Scars

9. Glorious Collision (2011)
Top 3: .....

I can safely say that while Hymn is a return to form and one helluva "comeback"it lacks a bit of variation on the structure of the songs but because that special Evergrey sounds is still intact and the songs are so strong and well made it still a top 3 album for me.

1-4 were basically no problem to rank. All amazing albums if you ask me. My reason for putting ISoT at #1 is because it's such a well made album. It has everything I love about Evergrey, moments that are sad, depressing, dark, heavy, uplifting, beautiful, progressive with an interesting story along with great lyrics. Great song writing that makes you through the music and lyrics feel the emotions and questions the guy has about life and the events he's been through. A very well made concept album basically.

5-6 While SDT lack in production quality I still find the songs to be interesting and it's basically the opposite with MMA. Good production but the songs ain't that interesting.

7-9 I put TDD above Torn and GC mostly for the fact that I just despise Torn and GC and atleast TDD have a old school demo kind of vibe to it and it's their first album so understandably they haven't found their sound yet. There's a few gem if you filter through the production also. Torn and especially GC is just an uninspired mess for being albums 13 years into their career if you ask me but the main part for me is that the sound and song quailty is so far from the Evergrey I love.

Yes, Glorious Collision isn't that good, to put it mildly. My top 4 is the same although maybe I'd put TI first and RC above Hymns.

I quite liked GC, it's way better than Torn IMO.  The production didn't do it any favours though.

Top 3 for me is Recreation, In Search and Hymns, in no particular order.

I gotta agree, with SDT likely #4. Not sure how I'd rank the rest, but Torn is mort likely the caboose.

I have only listened to the Top 4 in the list above.  I wrote off the band after my first album of theirs (Recreation Day) - did zero for me.  I was then quite surprised to really rate the other three highly.  I seem to be the only one who feels that way - will revisit when I get a chance.

That's probably the album that had the best first impression on me.  :lol

To be fair, I didn't like In Search of Truth the first time around. I got irritated by the conspiracy stuff in the concept.

In search will always be my favorite. Still blows my mind every time I listen to it.

Dark discovery, recreation day, and SDT always got heavy play as well.

Monday morning I always enjoyed, but I can see why people didn't like it. Hymns is pretty tight too.

Everything else I didn't listen to that much. I LOVE Evergrey though

Yea it really holds up well. I first heard it in 2002 I believe so it's been with me for many years and I still listen to it from time to time.

Patrick Carlssons drumming is a bit diffrent than Jonas which I have nothing against but I feel Patrick really shines on this album even though his drums sounds a bit too dry or atleast his toms but that's all about taste.

I got irritated by the conspiracy stuff in the concept.
I think it's unavoidable to tell a story about Alien abduction and paranoia and not mention anything about some form of conspiracy. They pretty much go hand in hand.  :lol

Brief rundown of the story:

The Masterplan - Man figures out something is wrong
Rulers Of The Mind - Man tries to make sense of what is happening, but he can’t
Watching The Skies - Man realizes he is no longer safe
State Of Paralysis - Man finally gives up hope
The Encounter - Aliens come, abduct man
Mark Of The Triangle - Man is returned, but is marked and has nothing to live for
Dark Waters - Tries to find aliens again, does, has nothing left
Different Worlds - Man thinks he lives in two different realities, really losing his sanity
Misled - Man is taken to asylum, he's gone insane

I haven't heard everything by Evergrey, but my introduction to them was with Solitude, Dominance, Tragedy. I only own SDT, Recreation Day, and Hymns for the Broken. I don't listen to RD much, but I love the title track. The other two albums are awesome. I believe I did listen to ISoT, but was bored. Either that or Inner Circle. SDT was definitely a grower though.
