LOL. Shit. Bosk1 locked the other thread on the DT section...

Anyways, did anybody see the Chapman stick in the studio?

I'm very stoked for this release! :metal And sounds like this one will be a lot heavier than the previous 3 releases.

Seems like they're working harder in terms of promoting this album than the one several years ago. I should probably give a listen to one of these songs and check out the album.

I am also wondering why they switched record labels. Molken Music released Shall We Descend and now Music Theories Recordings (subdivision of Mascot) is releasing this one. Maybe a better distribution channels/deal?

Most likely. Some rather big bands are on that label (like Flying colors, if I recall correctly).

As far as I know Molken Music is the label of Wally Farkas from the Galactic Cowboys. I think it's similar to Ytsejam Records, most of the products are live records, bootlegs and special or exclusive stuff. There isn't a big machinery behind that handles promotion and distribution and such.

Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

Got this in my inbox from DT:

Quote
[...]The 180 grams vinyl is limited to 2000 copies, and comes with a download card.

In case anyone cares about this kind of thing, the vinyl is not limited to 2000 copies. The first pressing is 2000 copies but if they sell out, there will be another pressing that will be identical to the first.

Got my CD from Mascot yesterday.  :metal

So far it sounds amazing. I think I'm going to order the JJ shirt.

I got the album two days ago and have been listening nonstop.  This might be my favorite Jelly Jam album.

It's a solid, really good album, maybe the best TJJ album in terms of melodies. But my first impression is that some songs have great ideas that should be worked more, in a bit more longer songs.

Just picked this up as well as the new Frost album.  I'll be spinning both this weekend.

That's a really good album.  It sounds a bit like Porcupine tree. Some songs reminded me a band of the 90's: Dishwalla. The vocals are great and every instruments are recorded in a perfect tone.
With all respect, sincerely yours

Jus got it two days ago, very cool!  It is so different in a good way, almost easy listening in some areas and tranquil. Great bass lines and guitar work, the vocals are similar to Porcupine Tree (Steve Wilson).
I still need to listen to it without any distractions so I can give a better review. I like it so far..

No they aren't.  They are actually listenable.

The album was a lot more mellow than I expected it to be. Very good though. I really liked Water and Permanent Hold.

Was hoping they would at least hit Chicago on their tour.  Looks like it's purely east coast :(

Wait have they even played a show before? Didn't even know they existed before the latest album.

As far as I know, they've never played live before. It's a shame they're doing such a short run in such a limited area, I would have loved to see them.

That's awesome, I hope you enjoy it. I'll definitely be scouring YouTube for clips after every show. It should be a great show, they're all great musicians. I just saw King's X a few weeks ago and it Ty's playing and singing is still great.

Interesting setlist...around 2 hours of show and A LOT from the first CD, although the band seems to think the last one is the best, really special etc (as always? ;D)

I hope the band films one show. I'm a big JJ fan but I can't make it to any of the shows this time around.

Cool to see that they played Allison and I Am The King, easily my two favorite Jelly Jam songs. I read somewhere that the band would be hanging out after the shows to meet people (much like King's X does), but I wonder if Myung will participate in that too, or if it's just Ty and Rod.

Wish they'd play Under The Tree. But other than that it's a good setlist.

Forgot to mention that they did do a meet and greet after the show. I wasn't aware they were doing one so I didn't bring anything to be signed. After the signing Ty and Rod hung out while Myung hid in the corner
