Damn...Tommy is pretty built....and Hansi looks younger now he cut his hair and dyed it black. Just some random things I noticed. And Tommy grew his hair longer...since I last saw them live.

You've got to be kidding me:  https://usa.mascotlabelgroup.com/Ayreon

2cd +dvd, plus t-shirt, signed....  For just $29.99 (and $5 shipping)?  That's a no-brainer.  So damn excited for this.  That's a hell of a deal.  I haven't gotten a new music themed t-shirt in a long time (think the last one was Transatlantic Kaleidoscope).

I saw that too.  I was sucked in by all of the extras.  Ayreon is one of the few bands that I always buy the physical copy of (along with Neal Morse and Dream Theater).  I love the artwork and want the booklet.  The dvd and signing is a bonus and I'm psyched to have a t-shirt.

An awesome thing happened.  Was watching the making of DVD of Theory of Everything last night, and found out that a new song had been recorded for the "Timeline" anthology record!  So I had a brand new nine minute Ayreon song to dig into.  And, as a bonus, it features the singer from Guilt Machine, and I love Guilt Machine.  It was on amazon for only $1.29, was able to get just the one song.  :metal

Yeah - it was alright, not one of the "best" Ayreon songs.  I thought it worked really well as an epilogue to the Planet Y story, having a different singer since it's all about "remembering" the ones gone.  And, I associate that singer with Guilt Machine and, well, guilt...  So it works.  Lots of ambience which I liked as well.  Mainly I wanted to mention it in case anyone else didn't know about it (probably anyone following this thread does, but who knows).

New song "Everybody Dies" is streaming on youtube now! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUSoR4EdyIo

Mike Mills owning it again, don't think this one is as good as the first one but still pretty impressed with the new album so far.

I'm listening at work on shitty computer speakers right now, but once the chorus hit I love that this song is kinda unlike anything I've heard from him before, and picks up a serious Muse vibe, excellent!

Nice, sounds really solid at first listen! I really how much is going on for a pretty short song, some really great combinations of vocals in some parts aswell. "Doom, Gloom, the world goes Boom" are pretty silly lyrics tho  :lol

Awesome song! This song sound really fresh :metal

Also, somewhat related, for those dying to hear more Arjen, here is an Toehider (Mike Mills' band) song with Arjen providing a solo.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9uBTlVIOoA Arjen's solo is from 2:08 onwards.

It's another good song, but I'm really not sure there should be lyric videos for Ayreon songs! The lyrics have always made cheese factories blush at their inadequate supplies of dairy products

Had to gives this track some time because I wasn't that into it from the start. It's a cool and fun track with some really great vocal parts and proggy parts. One thing is standing out which usually isn't something new when it comes to Arjen but man he really nails it with the production quality on this album atleast from what i've heard so far. Everything is crisp and clear while still being heavy as fudge!  :tup

After my second listen I've just noticed that it's Tommy who does the "DIIIIIIIIIIIES" growl at the very end :lol hope he does some more harsh vox on the album

I like this new song, very catchy

Yeah :lol I mean, as much as I love BTBAM, I think Karevik is definitely the superior Ayreon singer (judging by what we've heard so far and general assumptions). That said - for better or worse (in most people's opinions that would be worse) - Tommy's growls are inseparable. I don't think Karevik could (or even wants to) replicate them.

In talking with Elite it looks like the best time for a meetup for the Ayreon live shows will be during the day (late afternoon?) on Saturday, September 16. I'm sure we'll likely cross paths before that, but does that work for you Ruslan? Anyone else looking to come?

On an unrelated note, I'll be speaking with Arjen next week, so if anyone has any questions you want me to try and integrate let me know.

Cool interview!

In regards to the live show, it is interesting that he wants to do at least two songs of each album, and I assume it includes The Source. And then there is also Star One, which I recall being mentioned as well in promotional material. Looking forward to it. And filming two nights is a great idea, selecting the best performances.
