Got the tickets too, Stalles, three tickets for the 12th row (the second one from the gap) for Friday show! The cost of one ticket turned out to be 93,5 euros with transaction fee.

I'm so glad I was able to secure those in time. I'm damn excited now.

So what is this?

https://www.facebook.com/countermovemusic?fref=photo
https://www.countermove.org/COUNTERMOVE/COUNTERMOVE.html

Arjen Lucassen? Floor Jansen? Anneke van Giersbergen? Simone Simons? (and more names)

A beneficial event/project?

Also, that choir from the upcoming theater show is used on Arjen's new project with Anneke (and that new thing Countermove), glad to see Arjen uses the oppertunity.

Just by looking at the cover the album feels very diffrent from any previous albums. The only one I could think of is the Ambeon album he did with Astrid van der Veen. Very intrigued by this project!

More names, who gives a crap. I'll buy whatever album has those 4 names on it.

I don't believe it's a project that will make music / albums. On first glance, it appears to be some kind of movement to support the Dutch music industry.

Cover looks nice indeed. Arjen mostly has beautiful covers. I'm curious what direction the album will take (aside from the soft and more hard discs).

I don't believe it's a project that will make music / albums. On first glance, it appears to be some kind of movement to support the Dutch music industry.

Could be, but this was their latest message:

We can't play you any music for now, but we can start giving you an inside look at the recording process. Curious? Let's begin. Countermove Recording Sessions Pic#1: Manda Ophuis of Nemesea in the studio. — met Nemesea en Manda Ophuis.

So it seems they are at least making something as they show pics of recording sessions. And it is also meant for charity (with that charity not being Dutch music), as I understand it. Let's see.

Wow.  Then I totally misunderstood the FB page, and their ".org" website:

Anneke is going to play Fear for The Theater Equation.

I'm not sure how I feel about this, really. I can't really imagine her singing Fear's parts in Trauma, but maybe she will surprise me. I guess I'll find out at 18th September.

Well, at least they got a good vocalist, glad she is in. For the clean parts she will be great. I think they will use the choir (which has a growler, right?) to pick up the other parts. They better make a blu ray out of this (at the very least an audio recording), so many talents performing this stellar piece of music.

Edit: Yes, they have the growling covered, their facebook:

we do have an awesome female grunter (grunteress?) to handle these few lines.

Also, there is an upcoming tour for the Gentle Storm: https://www.annekevangiersbergen.com/blog/142

So there will be a few shows with Arjen himself, acoustic performances. But what gives, no dutch show? I am definitely interested in seeing Arjen perform with Anneke, but they do not do it in their own country  :(

Arjen left NL for the first time in several years to shoot a video in Belgrade with Anneke. Naturally, several of my friends hunted them down and spent the evening with them :lol we might go to Bulgaria or Hungary to see that Arjen/Anneke tour next year - I'm just mildly interested in Arjen's stuff but I like Annie a lot so I'm looking forward to hearing her live.

I'll just have to say that this is the very first time any sort of special tour or concert even hit southeast Europe, and that only 50% of Euro tours hit southeast Europe, and that only 10% of those that do hit Serbia, so... :lol at least I don't live in Montenegro or Macedonia.

Had an Ayreon marathon last night, ran through ITEC-THE-01011001-TTOE and really reminded myself why Arjen's one of my favorite musicians. I don't know how many hours of music that is, but it's a fair amount and almost all of it is really strong. It also reminded me that I should listen to TTOE more often, it's really good.

Not only Arjen is an awesome musician and songwriter (he wrote some of the prettiest melodies, and some of the heaviest riffs that I know of) but he's so extremely humble and down to earth, to the level where he actually answers to FB messages. Everyone should be like this.

Yeah, but the only time I wrote him on FB he messed up my name in his response.  :lol

Well, but he's definitely awesome and I love how he communicates with his fans.

Arjen is extremely approachable and friendly, and I applaud him for it, but realize even at his level he says he spends hours a day responding to fans. There comes a point of fame where, for the most part, you have to live your life and do your job, or have that level of contact with fans. I wouldn't fault Arjen if he severely cut back in his interactions, but am glad he's keeping at it.

Dutch words in the lyrics, interesting (concept about a Dutch sailor, apparently).

I like what I hear so far ;D Looking forward to this.

I really like that they have two disc featuring the "storm" and "gentle" versions. I loved the special edition of Ayreon's The Final Experiment as well (with the semi-acoustic disc).

Awesome awesome awesome. I think Anneke's voice suits the gentle version much better, I really loved this one; storm version, not so much, but it's still good. I can't wait for this.

Solid production by Arjen as usual and a pretty good track, not blown away but definitly wet my appetite for the album. I like that it dosen't immediately sound like Ayreon, it sounds fresh and new. Anneke sounds great as usual. I'm very hyped for the album!
