I guess I just prefer the new Neal Morse and Enslaved albums.
Why would that affect how much you like this album?

Ariich is a freak, or somehow has more hours in the day than everyone else.
I be am boner inducing.

It doesn't, and I just got those.  It was more of an indictment that I'm probably not going to dive in for round 3 any time soon.

Honestly, the idea of having the same songs played two different ways is an interesting and fresh idea, I just don't find the end result to be that interesting.  I would say the sum of the parts is greater than the whole in this case.  The hype train is in full gear, and I don't think this album lives up to it.  I just see so many overwhelmingly positive reviews for too many things that aren't worthy of the lofty praise they receive.

The announcement of the last singer on The Theater Equation on their facebook:

> Mike Mills joins the Theater Equation in the role of "Rage/Father". He will take on both parts originally sung by Devin Townsend and Mike Baker.
Mills is the frontman of Australian rockers Toehider and is no stranger to the Ayreon family. He appeared on the in 2013 released album 'The Theory Of Everything' where he sung the part of "Father" alongside Christina Scabbia. Mills displays an amazing vocal range and is a valuable addition to our cast which is now complete!
This first band is Soen very cool swingy jazz fusion kinda stuff.

From the ocean comes the notion that the realise lies in rhythm. The rhythm of vision is dancer, and when you dance you´re always on the one. From the looking comes to see, wondrous realise real eyes....

Awesome! Don't know about live, but the guy's studio performance on TTOE was something to behold. And it helps that he played a shitty father in that, too.

Also, I have been listening to the guy's own band Toehider. He made some great songs spanning all kinds of genres himself.

Two examples:
-Daddy Issues (felt appropriate for his Ayreon roles ;D): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fT8rwz4yHHE
-Whatever Makes You Feel Superior: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9a_nfLLfbUQ

To those who like Queen, Devin Townsend and System of a Down (groovy, balls to the wall rock with insanity) should give his latest album "What Kind of Creature Am I?" a spin (he uploaded it in full on his youtube channel Toehider).

Yeah, his upcoming Father performance doesn't bother me, don't know about Rage though. I assume someone from the Epic Rock Choir will be growling in his place.

Did someone buy the acoustic EP from the tour? I got it, but I don't have anything to play it on or rip to mp3.

Lasst night was the ´releaseparty´ of The Gentle Storm in the Melkweg, Amsterdam. Arjen joined the band on stage for four songs. Here´s ´Valley of the Queens´ from last night.

Well, it seems they've performed the whole album live except the Epilogue, but it's a minute of bells ringing and another minute is The Moment reprise, so that's not a big loss.

The sad part is I don't now who I'd rather be in that photo. My penis says Arjen, my heart says Anneke.

I met her for the first time, but was too scared to talk or do anything but take a weirdo photo. All I was thinking was "don't be a creep, don't be a creep!". Maybe in the future I will react much better when a dream of mine comes true.

When I went on PN14, I tried to keep photo ops and signings to a minimum (the latter I managed completely), but a bunch of people were getting pictures with Anneke so I jumped in for one. Hard to resist.

All these people are really easily approachable. I remember going to a Stream of Passion gig once and I was standing around after the gig, just taking in the atmoshpere, and Arjen just walked up to me and said ´Hey, how are you doing, man?´ (I´ve sang in an Ayreon tribute band once which he witnessed). I was just like ´uhhh yeah...´ at first but after that we just talked for about ten minutes. Really nice guy. And they all are, really. Lori is such a sweetheart, and she just does an awesome job handling all the buisiness side of his projects. I´m still waiting for a project with Her in the leading role, but it probably will never happen.

What was the keyboardist thinking, though? WD's keyboard solo is one of the best things ever.

My album copy is somewhere on the other side of the room, so I'm too lazy to check, but yeah, the solo on Waking Dreams is definitely not Joost's, I remember checking it before for some reason. He's got his solo somewhere on The Fifth Extinction or The Sixth Extinction, I don't remember which one. Funny enough, the other one was done by Derek Sherinian.
