TGD is one of those love/hate songs. It will get an average score because many people will also give it a low score. Same with stuff like SDV and Scarred. For every 10, there will be a 5 (or a 0 )

I noticed that. I also noticed that the big album closers are generally very popular, such as ITNOG, Octavarium, LTL, TCOT, ToT. In general though there's a pretty good spread of all eras of DT in the top 20.

It would be cool to see this list in columns with extra stats, such as song length, year etc. Not that I'm asking or expecting you to do it, but it would be interesting to see the trend overall.

Well they're 1 and 2, so I wouldn't read too much into it personally. I've seen both songs win out at various times from various deciding methods, so I don't think there's any reason to it other than Octavarium winning on the day, so to speak.

Technically that's the variance. SD is the square root of that.

Fortunately Excel has a nice standard deviation function to do it all for me.

I think that's a pretty cool idea actually, although to some extent the rankings weren't so much final as the results so far. For example, some people (like Reapsta) hadn't finished rating everything.

I think if we set a deadline for people to add theirs, or fill in any blanks they've left, and then make them the final rankings for 2009, sort of thing, this could be a really good idea.
