I think you should just apologize for liking Biffy Clyro :neverusethis:

Seriously though, they're not my cup of tea. Even after being constantly being subjected to their songs by my friends.

I've had this conversation with you before.
I think you should at least acknowledge the unique nature of some of their songs.

I think Bubbles is pretty much the best popular song I've heard in ages, and I respect them for introducing weird time signatures and stuff into pop and still being successful, but I don't really like any of their other songs other than Machines. Still, I respect them.

They're always incredible live.

well, save for the fact they have no stage presence. At the show I saw them a few years ago, they went on stage and played their songs, without saying a word to the crowd. They then bowed and just stayed backstage afterward during Editors set.

they don't need stage presence, they just need to carry on battering the shit out of their instruments

To be honest Bubbles is the only song of theirs I find particularly interesting. And this is obviously subjective, but the intro to 'Living Is A Problem Because Everything Dies' is the most comical thing I've ever heard musically, in a bad way.

How's it comical?
I can understand it being annoying but I don't see why it's funny in any way shape or form.

and Bodies In Flight is the best song ever pretty much so  :P

It's just because some Youtube commenter said it sounded like a kitten mashing on a Casio keyboard with completely random timing, which I agree with, so now whenever I hear it I see that. And I haven't heard that one, I'll check it out.

Will check out the earlier stuff, yeah...

Puzzle is hitting me hard these days. Folding Stars contains such raw emotion. Sad song, when you know what it's about :(
8 days until I'm seeing them live! Can't wait. Should be good.

The only song I know is that popular radio tune (When we collide we'll come together?), but that Bodies in Flight song is pseudo-complicated screamcore mathrock stuff? So they just made a switch to mainstream rock in one album's time?
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

They've always done ballady songs as well. And the new album isn't all "mainstream rock" - whatever that means (evidence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDmeMjsV35U). They just write songs, some of them are quite heavy and complex and some are really simple, of late they haven't done as much heavy stuff but they still rock live, trust me.

So i'm listening to The Vertigo of Bliss, and Bodies in Flight is my least favourite on the album so far :lol But overall it's really cool, I need to listen to it more times to get to know it, but certain songs already stuck out as really good. I like the heavy stuff too.
